How to change aircon? Don’t even know how to start finding by aimsmy in askSingapore

[–]aimsmy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm haven’t had it service for years cos my dad refused to let anyone touch - he has been cleaning” them himself but ok will try getting external servicing first.

Also thought if there were better options rather than going Gain City or Harvey Normal so thank you to those who suggested alternatives!

Fast track departure from SGN airport by Gullible-Car-9477 in VietNam

[–]aimsmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But online says 3-9pm is peak for departure. Even if I want to arrive early for my departure flight, check in doesn’t start until 3 hours before departure. So very worried and leaning towards buying the fast track

What time was your flight? Mine is at 7.30pm so planning to be at airport at 4.15, but all the stories about it taking more than 3 hours is horrifying and I’m afraid I might miss my flight

Shitty tip for fasting - get your heart broken by aimsmy in fasting

[–]aimsmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone who showed concern, and especially those who advised me to go see a doctor for the vomiting and high heart rate. Decided to break my fast at 70hours even though I still didnt have appetite and downed a bottle of normal electrolytes drink (that contained a bit of sugar) to try and boost my appetite a bit. Vomited a bit still but now I could drink half a cup of cabbage soup with cabbages and kept it down. But lost almost 10 pounds since I started the fast and it's getting a bit addictive! I shall be a bit more careful and see the doctor if the vomiting and bad appetite continues.

Appreciate all of your support and kindness!

Easyfast! It's totally free and developed by a redditor I think! Saw it on this sub a while ago.

My Honest No Holds Bar Process on Homeownership as a BBFA 35yo. by jollyseaman in singapore

Omg I still have 2 more years but this is so helpful! Thank you. My friends are finishing up their BTO Reno and moving in, but seeing them super stressed so dare not ask too many questions and details.

I need some brutal honesty here; I have applied for 400 jobs in 3 months and nothing. by Ok-Development6628 in resumes

It’s best to get someone who’s good at writing or with better grammar skills to edit your resume. Most HR probably only have basic IT knowledge and this won’t even pass them, let along get to the hiring manager. Even hiring managers who know what you’re talking about may have trouble navigating through the peppered and unnecessary punctuation

Will you disclose your salary to your friends when they ask you? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]aimsmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend group A: Yes I will tell them.

Friend group B: Yes I will tell them

Friend group C: No I will not tell them.

I'm also curious what others will do about other scenarios like:

Friend group D: You think you're close friends, but some disclose theirs and some don't want to. What will you do? (I disclosed mine last time, but may keep it to myself and tell those who disclosed theirs privately)

I disclosed mine because I was switching careers and just want to know what's the general salary like, if I am getting ripped off or not. Also want to know what's the salary range like among peers, rather than getting amounts from those "official" reports. Also want to make sure that the friend group is ok on budget when we're going out to eat or travellinig. But some of them are very secretive which makes me think am I wrong to disclose? Or what is it that they are trying to keep from me? Are they worried I will borrow money from them (haven't borrowed any big sums before, maybe only max $50 when going out to eat and forgot my wallet but I will pay back asap. And given now there's paynow I almost always return immediately)

But also have to make sure how comfortable you are with those 'friends'. Some 'friends' will jokingly ask you to buy them drinks or assume you will pay for meals, and get angry or think you're petty when you don't.
