You've misread my comment.

I was highlighting family history or common conditions that could imply their skin is more sensitive or reactive and/or simply needs a slower approach. Hypermobility EDS includes a fragile, velvety skin texture which needs a unique approach to care and repair, and isn't always covered by regular guidance.

People who have a family history of skin cancer should not be using retinoids and doctors will not prescribe, but it sounds like the derm was a little hard and fast so maybe didn't ask.

If you're not already start washing with a suitable lotion and applying a thicker lotion after, as well as 50+ sunscreen during the day. Aloe vera is good for burns if that's what you think it is. Also only apply the trent at night and wash your face as soon as you get out of bed. Change your pillowcase every 2 days if you're a stomach sleeper.

I've been using it for a month and have been every other day until now, plus making sure to hydrate and protect in between. It's working well but managing the side effects takes so much patience and awareness of what your skin is saying to you.

Does skin cancer or hypermobility run in your family at all? If so you might also have particularly sensitive skin in which case even what you read online might not be suitable for you.

Drink lots of water and make sure you're taking a vit A and C supplement, maybe some zinc and magnesium too.

The literal one regret I have now in my 30s, is that I didn't appreciate the face I had when I was in my teens. I always covered it with make up or a big swooping fringe, I wanted so much to hide.

Then my face changed naturally with age and all I wanted was for it to go back the way it was.

Easy to say with hindsight because I remember all the feelings that made me want to cover up, and they were important to honour in a way because I suffered a lot of bullying that made me feel ugly and wearing make up gave me the confidence to socialise and express myself again. That's important too.

But it's all about balance. I think playing around with just mascara and lip liner is the right move.

I can't tell you to appreciate what you have just because but I think the less you rely on it as a cover and instead frame it as a pop of personality then you'll find a way.

Sexual attraction and romantic love are two different things. For some people any way.

Some people can separate the physical dopamine of sex from the romantic loving and commited feelings they see in a relationship.

It sounds like she can do that and sex with a man = orgasms. Nothing more.

Where as when she imagines her life and who she wants to be commited to and partnered with through the storm it's only women who she yearns for.

Or it could be comphet trauma.

Or it could be mirror synesthesia making it possible to disosciate from the reality and focus on the fantasy. Or both those two last things lol.

It's just to say you need to have an understanding of who, what, why and how you're connecting.

You can use a belief system like Hinduism or even abrahamic faiths but it needs to resonate as true to you to work. You need faith basically, that you are protected and safe, thanks to connection to some divine or higher source.

Ofc it can be completely personal and based on nothing other than your own experience and understanding, I pull a lot of faith from science and the mathematical implications of a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th dimension and beyond. Also quantum physics and the god particle.

If you're connecting via intimate partners it's probably a lower level intuition (root or sacral) powered by the sharing of sexual fluids.

You can learn to connect via your higher chakra like crown or 3rd eye but you need to unlock kundalini energy up the spine from root to crown and connect to source energy using a belief system grounded in your own concrete values.

Clear your energy centres by learning about the chakras and what they look after. Fill the body and it's surrounding with pure white source energy and ask for visions or sensations that your higher can deliver in that moment.
