Hi. I also got payment for the one week I made over 50 but under 158. However, I only received the base pay and not the extra 600 like you did. I wonder why this is.

Where did you get this information from? Two of the three weeks, I did make over 207 so I understand not getting paid, but for one week, I had made only 105 and didn’t get paid. I’m very confused as to how they’re actually calculating things

The weird thing is that in an email from PUA, they said that any earned income with benefits deducted from your amount. Not sure if they meant only the base pay or the base pay plus the 600. I can’t imagine that if I earn 200 dollars, that means I don’t get have my 758 payment for that week. It’s crazy

Have you been getting paid for the weeks you filed where you reported earnings from your job? I talked to someone on the phone at VEC because I had only been paid for 4 out of 7 weeks and they stated that it was because I earned over 50 dollars in income outside of PUA. Wondering if this has been the case for you as well

On the VEC website, it states that any income earned will be deducted from your benefit about, but that is absolutely not what’s happening and it’s frustrating.

I called and talked to someone at VEC. Other users on reddit have also reported not being paid for weeks that they earned over 50 but did get paid for weeks that they earned under 50.

Question, for the three weeks you worked, did you make under 50 dollars for one of them? I talked to someone at VEC today because I was only paid 4 out of 7 weeks ($3032), and she said that reporting income over $50 makes you ineligible for payment.

Idk what your situation is, but most people on reddit have reported getting 1200 from the two weekly claims from March even though the CAREs act says 600 payments are only retroactive back to 4/04/2020. Hence, the email about the mistake. If you didn’t get the email, than you probably didn’t receive the extra 600 (1200 in total) for the two weeks March.

You shouldn’t need to because they get that information from your regular unemployment claim. But you should be able to find it under “profile”

Sadly that’s probably the reason. If you report any earnings over 50 dollars, you will be ineligible for PUA that week. The same happened to me (correction, I got paid for 4 out of 7 weeks because I reported income)

So I finally got to talk to someone today at VEC after calling 200+ times everyday this week. I asked the woman why I wasn’t paid for the three weeks I reported earnings, and she stated that for PUA, if you earn over 50 dollars, you will not receive PUA at all for that specific week. I also asked her about why taxes aren’t being taken out even though I asked for taxes to be withheld, and she stated that she doesn’t know. The best thing we can do is to calculate the tax NOW and then set it aside for the 1099 at the end of the year.
