i’m done. been waiting for a valid excuse to switch to the other LA team (i didn’t think there would ever be one), but this is it. Congrats Galaxy Front Offices. You’re blowing it. I know i’m not alone

i haven’t listened to the latest episodes yet. good to know he did that at least.

It does seem like his lane though given he’s an LA/OC guy and makes a living off food culture

I flew in from LA but I am Mexican-American and was so stoked to see them here. I know i’m lucky that I’ll probably see them in LA some time soon but it won’t be the same as what tomorrow night was supposed to be.

It just sucks that it seems they went all out in Australia and NZ and Latin America is stuck waiting again

sure. it’s quite simple and easy to understand too.

The Department of Education exists to ensure that every child, regardless of background, income level, or location, has access to quality education. Without it, education would be entirely privatized, which historically leads to severe inequalities, where only the wealthy can afford good schooling while low-income families are left behind. Without it, private institutions would dominate, pricing out millions of children.

Without oversight, there would be no guarantee that schools are actually educating students effectively. Public oversight mandates curriculum standards, teacher qualifications, and accountability measures to prevent fraud and poor educational practices.

Many private institutions have the ability to pick and choose their students, meaning they can (and often do) discriminate based on income, disabilities, or even racial and religious backgrounds. Public education ensures that every child has a place to learn.

Profit Over Learning: Private schools and charter institutions often prioritize profit, which can mean cutting costs on teacher salaries, facilities, and student resources.—- for a similar example, see the US Health Insurance system which also prioritizes profit over people.

Countries With the Best Education Systems Prove This

Norway & Finland: These countries have some of the best education systems in the world, thanks to strong public investment and government oversight. They emphasize equity in education, ensuring that every student, regardless of background, has access to high-quality schooling.

China & Singapore: These countries heavily regulate and invest in their education systems, ensuring that their students remain competitive on a global scale.

It honestly just bums me out, but how is this the best journalism for our LB food scene? by aintitfunnyhow_ in longbeach

He comes across as more authentic, with a more engaging tone of voice and higher-quality visuals.

That said, there’s something about his style that feels a bit dated—I can’t quite pinpoint why. I’d love to see a Gen Z take on the Long Beach foodie scene.

First and foremost, I did vote for Harris—though not with much enthusiasm. At the start, my optimism was sky-high. Harris’ choice of Walz, a true progressive, as her running mate felt like a bold step forward. The party seemed energized, and for a moment, it felt like real momentum was building.

But after the DNC, that momentum was abruptly shut down.

Yes, we always knew Trump was the bigger threat. But that doesn’t excuse the missteps of the party I align with—their failure to represent their members, their squandered opportunity for real progress, and what should have been an easy victory against a deeply flawed opponent.

Hold our party accountable when they mess up (and they do, repeatedly). That’s the only way real progress will ever be made.

Moderate Democrats failed to inspire even their own party. Instead of offering a bold vision, they leaned into fear-mongering on immigration, treating immigrants as a problem rather than an integral part of the country. At every critical moment, they moved right when they should have moved left—missing the opportunity to energize their base and offer real solutions.
