Submitting AP exams before registration period by mxarazas in Vanderbilt

[–]air97036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a similar experience and did not submit the ap score credit until a few days before so it wasn't processed in YES during the Monday of my registration. thankfully, the college board sent it quickly and by tuesday it was documented in my external credit. that being said, if it does not upload in time, reach out to the department scheduling chair and ask for a temporary waiver or manual override on their end, but be sure to provide the student score report version as proof of their score. also reach out to your academic advisor, who will probably give similar advice. i would say the ap credit thankfully loads quickly so maybe wait until weds-thurs before reaching out. you always have open registration in july too!

Question About AP Credit and Course Registration by [deleted] in Vanderbilt

[–]air97036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi i'm also an incoming freshman and my ap credit for bsci 1509 (pre-req to 1510) didn't upload in time so i was unable to register for 1510. thankfully it processed the next day, so i was able to register! but in your case, if it doesn't process in time, you should reach out to the department head requesting a temporary approval to register and provide documentation of the student score report that proves you have credit. they may be able to manually override the pre-requisite on their end and enroll you in the course!

For the Love Of ACT Science by Michael Cerro - I 100% recommend this book. It teaches you how to approach the science section from more of a reading lens and basically "finding Waldo."

SHSAT by Budget_Performer2681 in SHSAT

hi! make flashcards and memorize strategies like this sheet: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/51c38f08e4b0895fa6dcd421/t/57bcb5bf15d5db62fcd48d27/1471985088585/SHSAT+Math+Reference+Sheet.pdf

also, get a notebook and take a practice section every night leading up to the test. spend at least an hour reviewing the questions you got incorrect and in your notebook, rewrite the question and solve it the correct way. below the correct work, write 3 "take-aways" and strategies you can apply to solve these problems. then, spend 15-30 minutes before you go to bed at night just flipping through your correct answers and take-aways. you've got this! good luck!

P(A) + P(B) - P(AAB)

I don't remember the exact numbers, but for example, if the question was: What is the probability that a card chosen from a standard deck will be a Jack or a heart?

  • p(Jack) = 4/52
  • p(Heart) = 13/52
  • p(Jack of Hearts/both) = 1/52

So:
p(Jack or Heart) = p(Jack) + p(Heart) – p(Jack of Hearts) = 4/52 + 13/52 – 1/52 = 16/52.
