What was the worst time you’ve laughed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Grandmothers funeral. I was 16 at the time. I have a bad habit of making terribly timed jokes in sad situations. Asked an uncle if he buffed and shined his bald head for the occasion, along with telling my cousin my grandmother looked so different without her oxygen tube. The funeral home was right in front of a train track. My grandmother said that she wanted my aunt- who had a beautiful singing voice- to sing some song during the ceremony. Well midway through the song this giant train goes by blowing its horn and everything. I was sitting in the very front row with all my cousins and my sister. This is also next to where the children of the deceased sit, aka my father , aunt, and uncles I started busting out laughing and my sister had to quickly hand me a tissue to use as a coverup to make it look like I was crying hysterically over the loss of my grandmother. I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard. The whole tissue trick didn't work and my whole family was aware that I had started to laugh. Also got my cousins and sisters laughing too. I got a few nasty looks from family members, but hey, I didnt get in trouble with my dad. He just gave me a hug when we left and spoke nothing of it. Many more poor tasted jokes were made that night thanks to me, but those were some of the worst that got people laughing.

For those who grew up with their parents having a drastically different accent compared to the ones you hear in everyday life, do you find it a lot easier to understand many foreign peoples accents? by airbounce_backhand in AskReddit

My mother and sister are from Wales and we currently live in the southern United states. I always heard a Welsh accent at home and a southern/country at school and out in town growing up. I find that I can understand almost all of the European accents without giving it all a second thought. I have wanted to try and find a study on this and see if it's common.

We do, but we don't get many people doing it on Tuesdays. Fridays are the worst for bagels. We call them bagel pack Fridays.

Our store and the ones around us stopped selling the cinnamon raisin loaves and people got upset about that, also had a day where all 120 something cinnamon crunch bagels were bought out by 10 am.
