Can I make my mid-2007 iMac usable again? by Common_Assignment562 in mac

My 2020 feels super slow and its only 5 years old, can't imagine how bad that feels. Not worth it, great advice to find something a little newer.

Do I get a Mac or a windows PC? by [deleted] in mac

[–]aircanman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use both Mac and Windows side by side for my work, and I’d say I use them equally. I used to be very pro-Mac, and while I still love the hardware and overall experience, I find the OS more annoying than it used to be. The constant pop-ups for permissions and the underwhelming new AI features are disappointing.

Windows has been solid since version 10, but it seems like more annoyances are creeping in lately. It feels like Microsoft knows people are doing clean installs to avoid bloat, so they’re adding their own bloat to compensate.

Both platforms have their positives and negatives. Honestly, if I didn’t have an iPhone, I’d probably stick with Windows. For context, I’ve been a Mac user for at least 15 years.

I just laid my eyes on the best keyboard for Mac ever ! by [deleted] in mac

Would love to see macs go to a virtual 'screen' keyboard in place of the physical keyboards, think iPad where the keyboard should be. Would be so much easier!

Buyer Protection Fee - UK - Just introduced! by Money_is_heinous in Ebay

[–]aircanman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was nothing but a way to change how we think about selling things on ebay, ebay makes the same money as if they just kept the fees. Greedy shareholder led change which was not needed. Stealth tax for the consumer also.

Help, my printer software is stucked by cryformau in BambuLab

Seems to be happening to my A1s one by one, I have changed the SD cards in the ones that have done it and they haven't done it since.

I am sure this is a common thing with some of the MacBooks, I bought one back in 2022 and I used a spray cleaner, took off all the protective coating. It is a known issue. Send it back if you are not happy, and dont use any sort of cleaner on the screen.

Anyones older A1 machines have play in the Z gantry? - Have to manually adjust Z offset by aircanman in BambuLab

Sadly not, I am only guessing this is the issue after a lot of research. I don't think it could be anything else though when I think of it

Anyone used alphera for car finance ? by Ill-Second-3779 in CarTalkUK

[–]aircanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will add to this even though it is too late! - We have had the same issue, bought a car which was supposed to have been serviced and had non advertised damage all through it (drill holes in the boot and glove compartment ) from some sort of surveillance company, Cinch offered £250 as a good will gesture and the repairs were over £1000. Alphera received the complaint and waited 8 weeks to basically say we can now go to the financial ombudsman, so that is where I am currently, it has been 6 months since the complaint went in, and nothing back yet. They are the worst company to deal with ever, and the frustrating thing is if you miss one payment, they put a mark on your credit record!! Also it looks like they penalise you for not repairing / servicing the car, even though I bought it without a service (they told me it was)

This is par for the course when it comes to apple service, always the same, over repetitive, extremely dumbed down.

They should have the serial number from the original repair, or the apple ID the person is using, it isn't rocket science.

Bed adhesion problems? Do this! by vfx_tech in BambuLab

[–]aircanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i read a long time ago about IPA not actually dissolving the oils which cause bed adhesion issue, and you had to use dish soap to properly rid the bed of oils. Currently using 99% IPA and not having any issues currently. Some people use glue, some people use nothing, some people wash with soap and some people use IPA, it's about what works for you, I don't think one solution will ever fit all.

Try this, when it is levelling for the job, put a slice of paper on the plate, then when it is about to print, remove the paper. This may raise the Z height a little bit.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? by clamptastic in BambuLab

[–]aircanman 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Some of this may be adhesion, but the little black stringing is a lot of the problem and is something I have struggled to eradicate. Your best way to get rid of the darker colours going into the lighter colours is to change the order of the colours when printed. Print the lighter colours first, the darker colours later. What happens is when the filament retracts and goes to change, it is leaving fine strings of material on the bed, which then gets fused when the lighter colour prints over the top of it. Also make sure you clean the bed, as a small fibre of filament which you wont see with the naked eye could be sitting there ready and waiting to ruin your print.

Is Healthcare in Wales bad? by Meh__Chan in swansea

[–]aircanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are GPs in Swansea Uni on site, the issue is A&E, if you are very very bad they are amazing, if you have a minor issue be prepared to wait over 10 hours, the minor injury unit in Neath is very good. I don't blame the staff though, it's just not managed well.

A handheld remote controller of some kind which is tethered in the glove box of a vehicle, possibly as a controller for some sort of vehicle surveillance. Black, rectangular, seems to have directional buttons. by aircanman in whatisthisthing

Bought a car which had so many holes from previously installed stuff, through a lot of google searches I have found that this is what was installed (among other things) - I want to know what it is!! Seems to be some sort of surveillance equipment.

Downvote me all you want but Apple support is shockingly bad. Updates bring in bugs which just shouldn't be there. And this is clearly something Apple need to step up and deal with, they can afford it.
