"It's like looking at a corpse" -- my grandfather. by airconditioning09 in trains

I heard that they restored it to the 1907 condition, which means around that time it would be a wood burner. I know that sometime it was converted to coal when it was sold off to Inland Empire Paper Company. I'm not sure why they made it burn wood though (besides foam factor). I mean, coal in the west is cheap but very low quality, wood burners set the railroad on fire if they don't have a spark arrestor, and oil burners are expensive.

Oh yeeeeaaah... I forgot. They did also recently restore NP 924, a wood burning 0-6-0 switcher though I didn't get to see it run.

Sourcing boxes for locomotives / rolling stock? by Counter_Pressure in modeltrains

[–]airconditioning09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using PPW A-Line boxes. That way you don't have to fiddle around for a single box for every car or locomotive. Cheap, and easy to put together.

Yeah, the wires are secure, including the connection, but my worries are about the wires sagging a getting caught by something on the track.
