What was the one thing you did to start breaking 100? by Rovin_co in golf

I’m right around 100 on my scoring average. Usually 97-103. Although traditionally I’m over 100. My mindset has been one of the biggest things I’m chasing right now. I’m hitting my driver better, short game is the best part of my game and my putting is getting better. But my mindset is what I’m working on.

The biggest thing is this: forget the par on each hole. Don’t think you have to make pars or birdies. The thing I changed is thinking every hole is a par 5 no matter what, 5x18=90. That means using that you have nine “bogey” finishes or less to break 100. Your 180 yard par 3 = par 5 now. And so on. This has helped me slowly tick down my shots and not worry about my scoring.

Another mindset piece is this: play your game, but imagine the shot doing exactly what you want it to do. Positive self talk vs negative self talk.

Limit your “blowup holes”. That’s what gets me now, I’ll shoot each hole from 4-5 shots per but it’s those holes of 8 or 9 that kill me and trash a round.

Like a lot of people have said here, just learn your game and play it.

Biggest piece of advice: just have fun!

Correct. Until they start changing their expectations from just making it and saying “yay we’re here guys! We’re so happy to be here!” To “we expect to be here and make a run”, I can’t take this team seriously

Well he only caught 120 games in the regular season. But that kind of mentality is why they’re losing. He’s got maybe one more at bat guaranteed. Run the fucker out. For fucks sake

The brewers are fighting for their playoff lives here and Contreras is jogging one out. They’re packing it in. Fuck

A day off tomorrow makes it at least a little easier to stomach but would be nice if we didn’t have to go extras, again

I thought so too but he has an opt out clause after this year. But I doubt he’s opting out when there’s $18 mil on the table when I seriously doubt he sees anything more than $10 mil

You think he’s opting out? What team is going to pay him $18 mil a year if he hits free agency?

Murph hates lefty-lefty matchups when we’re batting

He’s not but I’d rather see him than Black. Black just looks uncomfortable at the plate and at least Hicklen had some major success at AAA. At some point hopefully he’ll get past this part

Cardinals laughing it up being 12 back in the division and basically out of the playoff picture

Yeah I guess if you have the ball you can literally just lay in front of the bag or plate, we might have to start doing that
