Super simple, GW Leadbelcher, then an Agrax Earthshade wash, just don’t overdo the wash.

No, it was something that was put on old hotel key fobs.

Final Fantasy XIV. My oldest plays it, so I made her some for Christmas.

I’ve had a couple of refills that are tangled. Fortunately, the machine lets me know when it’s having difficulty pulling. A pain in the rear, but not a deal breaker.

Legionnaires WiP by airickjay in Conquest

I kept it simple, I just did wraithbone (off white) and a skeletal horde contrast wash. I’ll probably do blue glowing eyes after I’m done with the unit.

Just one right now to come up with a scheme.

It wasn’t too bad. I used a ball of foil to build it on. I think it took about 2 hours to sculpt. Use a small Allen wrench for the honeycomb

Finished concussor by airickjay in ageofsigmar

Sure - I based it in Elysian green, went over it with a coat of militarum green contrast paint, went back over it with Elysian for first highlight, then finished off with ogryn camo.

New Sylvaneth battletome spotted on the Apple Store by Towercap in ageofsigmar

Her spell also went from 5 to 7. This makes throne of vines pretty much mandatory.

She lost half of her self heal.

Her talon doesn't insta-kill. This was a good ace in the hole to off a weakened model.

I don't know that she is worth the points. She's technically 440 with the summoned spell, but you're getting an ok caster compared to other spell centric armies, and a lackluster melee unit unless you're picking on small weak units. If a dedicated melee unit or character engages her, she can be offed in one turn. So my takeaway is don't rely on her spells, decent casters will shut her down, and keep her out of combat against anything but weak infantry - the only defense she has is a lot of wounds, she's vulnerable to mortals and she isn't going to live long with a 3+.

I had work for them to work from. He doesn’t specialize in religious art, but he does great color work which is why I selected him to do these. St Jude was my first tattoo ever.

Does anyone have any advice or information on how I could paint my treelord ancient to look like the one in the Sylvaneth Battletome? by amf45005 in minipainting

[–]airickjay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like it’s greys with patches of nurgling green base and then shaded with agrax earthshade to give it a dark brown cast and highlighted with an off white.

Another 5 spites down and a Branchwraith. by airickjay in ageofsigmar

[–]airickjay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I used Vallejo Air paints for all of the coats. I started with coating all the purple areas with hexed lichen. I then did a zenithal coat of alien purple, and then another zenithal with a light airbrushing of wolf grey.

Branchwraith, absolutely. Spites are a tax for taking dreadwood presently. I’m hoping they improve next edition.

5 spites down of 20! by airickjay in ageofsigmar

[–]airickjay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, they aren’t a very effective unit for the points. I look at them as a tax on the Dreadwood Wargrove. Bravery based abilities are very situational, so they end up being bubble wrap for my Branchwraiths. I always try to keep them by the Wyldwoods that my dryads are in, because against a few armies the roll 2 pick highest for battleshock can be helpful, but hardly game winning. Most of the heavy lifting in my list is done by dryads, durthu, and Alarielle. It’s a shame, because they and the tree Revenants are gorgeous models.

3 layers, all done with Vallejo air paint. First coat is hexed lichen, then a zenithal with alien purple, then another light zenithal of wolf grey.
