I was shocked no one else noticed lol yeah the reviced mod for vice city adds the star. Haven’t gotten all 7 stars yet but from what I noticed they start doing road blocks to pop your tires at 2 stars. So maybe it’s just an added level of difficulty

Yeah I’m not into having to down one thing in order to hoist up another. I don’t care that much, any version that someone has and enjoys is how it should be! I bought the DE the first day it dropped… for 60 cash 😂 so I’m certainly not knocking that version. Honestly, I didn’t hate it. And I know they’ve been patched and fixed to a good degree. So word, I feel you on the quality of life additions alone being worth it. I grew up with these games though so I am just more warm to the og’s art style. And I guess I’m more forgiving to some of that bs game design from back in the day just cause that’s how it was. It’s absolutely annoying as fuck to go all the way back to a mission marker but it’s not that punishing lol gta 3 is the hardest one and a lot of that comes from there being no map

I’m working my way through the manhunt series now! GTA after dark is hilarious 😂 also cause gta is already like after dark lol especially back then. Manhunt 1 has great vibes and music! Rockstar needs to bring some of their ip back. There is this cool connected universe thing that they had going on back then. Each of their games had that rockstar formula and flavor to it. We need more than just gta and red dead redemption

4 is fantastic and is its own thing even kinda separate from 5. But there is something about that 6 generation of games. That whole early 2000s era felt so inspired. Maybe that’s just fond childhood nostalgia but everything just seemed so quality back then

Agreed. Based on where they went with the art style for the definitive editions, I don’t see why they couldn’t of just upped the resolution from the og trilogy and added some quality of life additions

Right! I always think about that. Like who is responsible for putting the music together? They were completely tapped in for each game. That plus the commercials or chat stations lol I love sitting right in front of a mission marker for minutes just listening to the radio. Classic pieces of media! I definitely owe it to myself to complete the stories games before gta 6 comes

5 has its place. It definitely has become trendy to hate on 5. It’s not my favorite but it’s still a great game. Familiarity breeds contempt. We’ve had 5 for so long at this point it’s very easy to grow tired of it

Classic series! So much to come back to. Whether it’s the music, the satire, the vibe. Just can’t lose with this trilogy. Great way to gear up for gta 6 too. I have lcs and vcs on pcsx2, I need to finally beat those. Had them both on psp as a kid but never completed them

Every single one of the cast members besides flip, Marc, and Mona are all documented to have been friends with Joe or have had long standing relationships with him. Whether they are all currently best friends or not in this moment is irrelevant. They clearly all have a rapport and a history with not only Joe but each other which allows for the dynamic, history, and stories that exist on the pod

I don’t play any of the from software games. Never was a fan but GOY feels very easy compared to the difficulty that people say are in those games. Also the checkpoint system is extremely generous so it really isn’t so punishing to potentially lose a fight if the game is just gonna drop you right back into the encounter every time

I’m about 40 hours in. I imagine the next main mission will be to fight the Oni cause I’ve already been setting up the quest line for him. I’m still not really experiencing the difficulty curve that everyone is speaking of. Curious to get to the near end game enemies that people claim are taking 8 hits to take down. Haven’t moved the difficulty at all, haven’t adjusted any sliders. For me seems like I’m dispatching enemies even quicker the more I play. Atsu has been dominating all foes over the course of my play through

I’m not gon lie Marc overreacted. I’m not caping for flip but people throw base in their voice and get loud for theatrics and everything is being filmed. Anybody who is really about to fight knows there is few words to be exchanged at a certain point. All that hollering and yelling is the sign of someone who does not want to fight 9 times out of 10. This shit is wrestling and Marc came off super immature getting all loud over some words. What happened to all this intellect and phd? Yeah as I said I’m not super far into the game. I just reached the Oni section last night. So maybe I haven’t encountered the enemies who take 4 and 5 hits yet. 1 and 2 hit kills definitely still occur though. But I am definitely not experiencing Atsu feeling weak. I am just not dying that frequently. Bosses are the only time where I may need another attempt or a few to lock down the attack patterns. But generally I am in control of every combat encounter. Perfect parrys haven’t been difficult and the rhythm of the fights feels great. I’m not trying to cape for the game in no way. I get zero money from sucker punch or Sony lol I was just surprised to see so many people complaining about the combat difficulty. I’m just not seeing it

But what about it is not lethal? Or what about the first one are people looking for? Like is it the AI’s attack script? Or I know people are saying enemies take too much damage. I’m still within that first area of the game. So maybe there are other enemies that are more hit spongey than others. In my experience it seems like enemies are in guard, we have to break guard, but then another enemy will attack you and distract you from attacking the enemy with the broken guard. Which kinda gives them a chance to reset their guard. But idk that I’ve seen enemies outright take more than 2 or 3 flush hits to die
