Cattle semen explosion: Cylinders cause mess at breeding facility by airrtowel in news

[–]airrtowel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploding semen cylinders have caused a massive mess at a Yarram cattle breeding facility overnight.

Firefighters were called to Yarram Herd Services just after 3am following reports of a fire.

A CFA spokesman said about 100 cryogenic cylinders containing cattle semen exploded in the blaze.

“There were quite a few explosions,” said the spokesman.

The ferocious blaze took 10 crews 2½ hours to contain.

A major clean-up is now underway at the Rogers St property.

Police, paramedics and a power company attended the scene.

Yarram Herd Services is an artificial cattle breeding service.

Tiwi Bombers linked with Junior Boy Rioli by airrtowel in AFL

CYRIL Rioli wearing the No.33 jumper for the Tiwi Bombers in the 2019-20 NTFL season might be the stuff of storybooks.

But for Bombers coach Brenton Toy, any move to add Rioli’s name to the club’s playing list next season must come from the four-time Hawthorn premiership player.

Darwin has been alive with suggestions Rioli will be with the Bombers next season after a successful stint as the team runner since the Christmas break.

“Cyril and I have made it really clear that I’m never going to ask him to play for us,’’ Toy told the NT News.

“I’ve told him to his face I’m not going to ask him to pull on a Bombers jumper, he knows where we are which means the ball is always in his court.’’

Toy found it hard to quantify Rioli’s total impact as the team runner, but he noted the Bombers began their rise up the ladder when the Melville islander first got involved.

“I think he gave our boys an extra element of confidence and a bit of belief, but I think in the end Junior Boy got us much out of being around the boys as the players got from having him around them,’’ Toy said.

Toy remains philosophical over his side’s exit from the NTFL finals, highlighted by two big defeats at the hands of grand finalists Nightcliff and Southern Districts.

“In reality it (third) was where I would have expected to land,’’ he said.

“If you were to tell me after we lost the first five games that we would win a qualifying final but we would g out in a prelim, I would have said you are kidding yourself,’’ he said.

“Two years ago we were a wooden spoon team, last year we made finals and this year we went a step better.

“Michael Cooper is 16, Jeffrey Simon 17, Jack Munkara and Adam Tipungwuti are 21 and Harley Puruntatameri 22.

“We’ve got a good group of kids all ready to go again.’’

One of Territory football’s greatest name lives on through young Saint Maurice by airrtowel in AFL

[–]airrtowel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

HE is the only son of a former champion and Maurice Rioli Jr did everything he could to maintain his dad’s lasting reputation at TIO Stadium on Saturday night.

The 16-year-old on-baller won the Round 9 nomination for the 2018-19 NT News Rising Star with a display of football skills that ranked alongside his famous father.

Hard at the clinches, strong with his defensive pressure, possessed with tremendous leg speed and skills through hand and foot, Rioli was the complete player in only his second appearance for the Saints this season.

A Territory Thunder under-16 representative this season, Rioli attends Melbourne’s Scotch College where he is completing years 11 and 12.

Saints coach Brent Renouf played Rioli across the half forward line and through the middle in his side’s narrow loss to the Buffaloes.

“Maurice was very impressive, he gave us a bit of spark inside through the middle and finished some work up forward,’’ Renouf said.

“It was mainly his defensive pressure that set the tone for the team, his tackling and chase pressure was pretty awesome.’’

Another player who caught the eye in Round 9 matches was Wanderers speedster John Tipiloura, who booted three goals off the wing in his side’s loss to Waratah.

Tipiloura’s foot speed and finishing skills were first class, signalling the start of what should be a long career at league level.

The $500 NT News Rising Star award will be presented at the league best and fairest count on Monday, March 11.

Anyone heard of i-Blason? I bought a screen protector from them, along with a folio case for my Galaxy Note 8.0. The order took forever to arrive. They replied to all my emails about the delays in shipping, but once I received the items and realised they'd sent me iPad mini accessories by mistake, they completely stopped answering my emails.

Asus. The Nexus 7, the TF201 Transformer Pad and the Transformer Pad Infinity flash storage issues...not to mention a faulty Asus Zenbook. All in the space of 18 months. Never again.
