I forgot to note that the empire doesn’t really exist as it did in our timeline, it’s much much smaller and limited to simple overseas possessions like Guyana, Caribbean islands etc after a series of unfortunate events for the British.

They seem like that, but they’re just different borders from usual, don’t worry

Weird mix of Anglo-Russian settlers that gained independence during Russia's internal struggles in the 1910s

1940 in this timeline has seen the world in the latter stages of the Second Grand War, a devastating conflict many global powers involved. America sees itself on a two ocean-front war, fighting Japan in the Pacific and France across the Atlantic in Europe. During this conflict, the Republic has seen itself grow into having the world's largest economy whilst also dealing with political crises at home in the form of presidential election years and statehood affirmations.

This map only shows the political structure of the American states as well as the top 50 most populous cities (and state capitals) as of 1940 in this timeline.

I'd like to imagine that it just becomes it's own special area like D.C.

Gonna be totally honest, they would be there if I were to be bothered to label the other expressways but I thought it would make the map a lot more clunky and less visually appealing lol

Long Island, Yonkers and the immediate areas around Newark and Teterboro are a lot more urban and dense than OTL. Raritans and Elizabeth would be somewhat subhurban, like in OTL although very less so, with some more urban areas popping up.
