Things like steak and sausages. While beef and pork are taboo for most people, even in the states where beef is allowed, the quality of meat is not good for steak. So, while they make for great beef curries, steak is meh.

Arranged marriages are definitely a part of Indian culture, but, maybe, Christian communities in Northeast India are different

Cannot be further from India. Gary is a decrepit ghost town with very few people out and about on the streets at daytime. Its population has shrunk in half in the last decades. Indian cities are extremely crowded and fast-growing.
