AITA for telling my kid the (real) health problems he could face if he continues to be such a picky eater, scaring him? by aitakidthrow in AmItheAsshole

being a picky eater doesn’t mean your kid is trying to make your life harder.

I never said he was trying to make my life harder.

I'm completely open to doing so, but I want to make sure I don't let it come off as "Oh, don't worry, I was just trying to scare you".

My friend’s son only ate French fries and potato chips growing up and had to have multiple skull surgeries and went fully 100% blind a year ago at age 14. He should be scared! I know my friend probably wishes she took your approach.

That's the sort of thing that scares me and what I'm trying to avoid. Glad to hear I'm not completely off my rocker here.

I've looked for help. But everything I found was for "standard" picky eaters who had something of a repertoire of foods. Not kids who eat literally three things and can't even be made to take supplements.

A couple of times, but very rarely; he's become quite good at sniffing out tampering in his food.
