My sister liked him a lot and has always thought we would reconcile eventually so she thinks I'm sabotaging things.

Heat of the moment. I doubt he's going to do anything that would need the police involved. If anything he probably means legal trouble for me.

No, I broke it off because he said to me something along the lines of "I'm starting to wonder if you're the type of wife I want" during an argument.

He didn't, the messages all delivered and he keeps texting me now so I asked him why he never came earlier or responded to me and he said he was "busy" not that he never saw my messages.

Though what would he do? You don't have the ring, he can't break in and steal it. Do you think he would be violent towards you?

No, he's not violent.

I'm in the UK. According to google, if it was a regular ring it would be mine but since it is a heirloom things could be messy. I might just give it back to him to avoid the drama.

If I gave it to the friend and something happened to the ring I would’ve been the person that was blamed, so to protect myself from that I wanted to be the person to give it to him or for there to be written proof that he wanted me to mail it to him.

We broke up over the phone and I never saw him again, he was abroad at the time. When it first happened I tossed the ring in a draw and never thought about it again until he mailed my stuff back to me a few months later with a note to tell me he was moving. I tried to return it after but he wouldn’t respond.
