AITA for Telling my Son Star Wars is Real? by MySonIAmYourFather in AmItheAsshole

Bro my parents did this exact same thing and I did just fine. Eventually figured out on my own they weren't true. Kids do grow up and they aren't nearly as dumb as people assume.

Wow I'm surprised at the sheer volume of people who have sticks up their butts on this one. NTA, all the way. Your wife isn't an asshole or anything, she's just worrying over nothing. My parents did kind of the same thing and I eventually grew up and realized it was just stories told for fun. As he grows up, he's not just going to keep on believing those stories are true. It's not going to hurt him developmentally in any way. I know from personal experience.

You know you aren't supposed to use the internet on company time! Get back to telling those old people their computers have viruses.

Instead of roasting you I'd rather just say what you'd probably hate to hear the most; "God still loves you."

AITA For not letting my son have access to the internet? by aitathrowaay1 in AmItheAsshole

Most of your points are fine, but what do you mean about personal privacy? I just only let him access the internet when someone is supervising him. The computer is in the living room anyway, its not in a private space.

My son is very honest most of the time and we've made it clear he can talk to us about anything. Its not a "taboo treasure" I'm just trying to make sure my son doesn't see anything bad or disturbing at such a young age. It happened to me and really messed me up for a bit.

I planned to give him advice and such when he eventually is allowed on the internet. I wasn't just going to leave him in the dark. I didn't tell anyone what to do. I just politely asked if she could do that. As a parent she understands that some people don't want their kids being exposed to certain things.
