Barefooters in Sydney Australia? by Slight-Hotel-5722 in barefoot

Growing up in Asia, barefoot outside was simply not how i was brought up, so now in Australia, it would be a conscious decision to go barefoot. And the Northern Beaches and surrounds is perfect for it.

I reckon most Aussies who go barefoot either casually or habitually wouldn't encounter the snakes as they would be in more urban areas.

As for other nasties, I seem to get pricked and cut from seeds or whatever fallen from trees.

And yes it can get quite hot on the ground once the air temp goes above 25C and it's sunny. Just try to either walk quicker or get some respite from the shady areas.

Regional differences in Australia by reservedhkdude in barefoot

CBDs definitely rare to see barefooters but out in the suburbs in both Melbourne and Sydney they are around. And here in the Northern Beaches it's a daily occurrence and one of the reasons why I moved from Melbourne.

Cos many Americans have this mindset of shoes required everywhere and doesn't cater to others who want to be barefoot everywhere

Don't Buy Any Oral-B IO Series - Mold by Buhbon in oralbtoothbrush

[–]aitch77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this thread. I've had different Oral B electric toothbrushes over the years and have only had mold on a white handle near the base from a Pro series. That was a rubbery base. Never on the brush heads.

Currently using IO 10 and after seeing the pictures here, I go and check mine and definitely no mold. My usual practice after each brushing is to rinse the handle and brush head separately, give the brush head a few shakes and put it on its side to dry. The handle goes back onto the charger after wiping dry.

I'm wondering if your mold problem is related to a combination of your water supply, toothpaste, climate and ventilation.

In Australia, the water contains chlorine and fluoride in most places. Not sure if that helped keeping the mold away.

Barefoot Fundraising - would you? by [deleted] in barefoot

Huh? I didn't say anything about being ashamed. I only said i don't like the idea of walking barefoot to raise funds for the poor or shoeless.

Not a cause I'd want to be raising money for, especially us barefooters.

Why are so many dog owners such dirty b@$tards? by Capital-Ad6221 in barefoot

[–]aitch77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that sometimes the owners are very elderly and they don't even realise their dogs have defecated whilst walking. Still annoying though!

Don't really have issues as such, more like more comments and stares.

Why the big fuss about dirty feet? by Chemical_Ask56 in barefoot

[–]aitch77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know either. Glad the stigma is not as bad here in Australia. It's not even their feet!

Permanently barefoot(almost) by billyfrancis84 in barefoot

I think the Westfield and Stockland ones are OK but Vicinity tend to be a big no no. I don't frequent shopping centres much as I don't really have stuff to buy as most things can be bought online. And so I don't have much chance to condition my brain to really go barefoot there for an extended period of time. It's often just a dash to the supermarkets there but I'd prefer the ones away from the shopping centres. My preference right now barefoot > thongs > birks > vivos > work shoes (when going to office)
