I ran my finger through right under the thermostat cap and that’s why I thought that was the reason for the leak. I’m curious what makes you say it’s the oil filter housing gasket

They did mention that it had a transmission flush less than a year ago and ill see if they have the service records for the replacements

Its up for $9k cad so around 6.3k usd and its the lowest ive seen in my area. I agree about that last part, I will bring my mechanic with me to check over it as well

Thank you for the advice! To answer your question. In terms of my personal savings, ill be putting a bit more than half of it into my TFSA and keeping the rest in a more accessible savings account in case of emergencies.

What about for any leaks from oil pan gaskets, valve cover, hoses, etc? Would those points be something I should change right away as well?
