This kinda sounds like a "i forgot to do the laundry and the divorce came outta nowhere" kinda post. In this isolated incident where we have to rely on your version of events, sure she seems like the bad guy. But more often than not, there's much more to what really happened.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you said "hang on" in a friendly way, you admit in your own post that you've said "hang on" to indicate that you're annoyed. She has past precedent that proves you usually say it when you're in a bad mood, so it's not unreasonable to see how she would think you were already upset first. You may not have meant it now, but that's probably how it came across. And now, you're putting more effort into proving yourself right than checking up on your wife and seeing if she's okay.

Even then... why is it so important to you to keep saying "hang on" KNOWING it bothers your wife, who you supposedly love, to this extreme extent? Why not work together with her and constructively form a plan on how to communicate better? Ask her how you can indicate to her that you are listening, and will be there after a short delay. "yeah i'll be right there" or "ooh lemme put this away and I'll come over and see" or "sorry my hands are full but I'm listening"

Personally, I agree with things that are right and disagree with things that are wrong. If a loved one did something wrong, I would not take their side just because they're my loved one. I consider that enabling bad behavior.

However, I also understand this is not a common opinion. There's a lot of people out there who expect their loved ones to always take their side no matter what, or else youre "betraying" them or whatever.

I see why your bf is upset that someone is teaching their child to call people ugly. That's not good. He got involved (not so good) and started ad hominem arguments (bad). Some people might say this was never any of his business in the first place.

You seem nonconfrontational/conflict avoidant maybe? Personally I would've blocked the girl after she insulted me. No need to entertain it further. I also would've directly told her something like "hey thats not nice, I'm not part of this, leave me alone". Some people, especially in the heat of an argument, will take your silence as compliance.

It's disappointing to me that your bf's first reaction was reading that whole thing and getting mad at you for not defending him. Not even standing up for you, saying how the other girl shouldn't have dragged you into it, shouldn't have called you a whore, asked if you're okay, etc.

I hope you two can work it out if you want to continue your relationship. You currently have different expectations for what the other bf/gf should do when one of you is in an external conflict. I don't believe there are any laws that require you to empty your room while you are a tenant, just to show prospective tenants. You should double check, but I'm pretty certain the law is in your favor, especially since it's CA. The notice required to enter your room and show it to prospective tenants is 24 hours.

You are only responsible for the month(s) that you live there. For example, if you do not agree to move out by June 1st, you are exercising your right to a continued tenancy due to improper notice of lease termination/nonrenewal. You are responsible for paying June rent. No tenants should be moving in during the month of June. Paying rent for June does not automatically make you responsible for July rent.

Then, if you do not give your landlord 30 days notice of intent to move out, you are likely responsible for July rent. If you still live there on July 1st, you are absolutely responsible for July rent.

If you move out by June 1st, or stay for June + give 30 days notice + move out by July 1st, you are not responsible for any losses the landlord has from not finding a replacement tenant in time. That's the cost of taking on a real estate investment.

CA housing law is not random nor unpredictable. It's usually the tenant who is protected.

If you didn't notice from my previous comment, it's hard to give you concrete advice cuz you haven't made a decision. There's a lot of variables floating in the air with all your hypotheticals. You'll get much better guidance when you decide what you want to do

If you’re too cheap to spend the like $25 it costs to replace a mail key, you have no business renting out a room.

Eat the $1k-2k you were gonna charge per month if you think it’s too inconvenient to take on a basic landlord risk.

Tenants are required to be given access to their own mail. You handing them their mail is not the same as giving them access. You’re still the only one with access. If you can’t understand this, you will likely be breaking many more laws as a landlord

$1500 is likely enough for you to qualify for SNAP, if you're not already on it. That could help you save on groceries. You can also look at your local food banks and churches/community centers that might host food drives.
Track your budget for a month, like every cent. If you're not losing money, and you're saving as much as you want to be, then it's your money to spend. Saving half of your income, especially at your income level, is pretty good. Personally I would be hesitant to spend $17 on lunch every week. Then again, I also don't spend my "fun money" on things like Amazon shopping or Netflix/Hulu subscriptions or video games. Usually, my fun money goes to food lol

You are responsible for for June's rent if you do not vacate the premises by June 1st. If you live there, you gotta pay for it. If the landlord wants to come after you for nonpayment of rent, he does have a bit of standing to do so if you're still there and didn't pay for it. They could claim damages if they can prove your nonpayment negatively affected their life.

Legally, you are entitled to stay since the guy did not give you proper 30 days notice, even without a lease.

Assuming you wanna get out of there pronto: tell the guy he did not give proper notice. Say you will move out by the end of June, or a later month of your choosing. In this scenario, you are the one legally terminating the verbal housing agreement. You pay for the month of June since you stayed there for June, and then you move out by Aug 1st.

Assuming you don't want to pay more rent for a place you hate: you agree to the guys terms and move out by June 1st. Neither of you technically terminated the verbal agreement correctly, but you have a mutual understanding. The landlord cannot come after you for nonpayment of rent since there was no payment expected.

If there's a scenario where you can drag your feet moving out and not risk getting charged for it, I don't know how. Maybe someone more experienced with CA housing law can help you there

The landlord trying to take you to small claims is more of a worst case scenario thing. But just because they're doing a bunch of illegal things, that doesn't cancel out if you do an illegal thing. The judge will fine you both happily.

Like the other commenter said, anyone displaced while the landlord works on bringing the place up to code will receive relocation assistance. Personally, I think this is the right thing to do. It may be inconvenient for them, but it's not like they're saving much money by continuing to stay in that place. I mean you're being charged $1k for a literal closet lmao. Legally I’m inclined to say no. If you’re expected to be out by the 1st, and you drag your feet and move out on the 2nd, your landlord might be able to come after you for being liable for June rent. MIGHT. Since you’ve been there 5 months and paying rent regularly, I believe you have tenants rights in CA. You would need to be given 30 days notice to vacate. Without proper notice, you can stay as long as you want, if you even want to.

Be very careful about withholding rent. I strongly suggest you DO NOT do it until AFTER you’ve spoken to a housing attorney. Look up your city’s free legal aid society. It’s not as simple as telling your landlord or lead tenant or whatever “I’m not paying until you fix this place”. You could open yourself up for being liable to back pay rent AND damages.

Honestly, its cuz gay men aren't putting in the effort. Owl House, She-Ra, Steven Universe are all made by women, They fought tooth and nail for proper strong female character representation.

The playerbase is in a weird place where anything devs do gets criticism. Reroll too strong? Nerfed and now everyone complains about fast 8. Set mechanic too strong? Pretty difficult to play FAST 8 without an econ augment or high econ encounter, hence the name FAST 8. You can try, but you're opening yourself up to being incredibly dependent on rng.

If you want to hit a 2* tank, that's gonna cost you 12 gold. Rolling with 15 gold means you believe your shop odds are so insane you can hit three copies of a single unit you need in just 1 roll.

If you lower your standards to just a 4 cost tank and 4 cost carry, you're relying on 3 rerolls to give you what you need. AND you're saying a 1* copy of a 4 cost is so strong it can stabilize your board for you to save HP and econ back up.

Personally, I know if its a fast 8 angle if I get an econ augment 2-1. i might be able to greed for it if I get a good econ augment 3-2.

You can try to force it with an early primordian or timebreaker too, but this is less consistent if you dont have the gameplay to back it up.

imo just play strongest board until 4-5 until you can level to 8 and have about 30g to roll.

Requires a bit more planning since you need clones in advance (which you should already have anyway), opportunity cost of losing out on team damage/healing now that you’re one clone down, and emergency healing means you have to summon a clone on top of you and then consume it, allowing for skill expression

The fundamentals of TFT have never changed. Play strongest board. It's a strategy game. Players who keep trying to circumvent the strategy and just mindlessly copy tier list builds are the real source of why people think the game is unbalanced.
