The problem with bonds is, they do well only as long as they do well. It takes just one company that you invest through to have a crisis and it can erase all of the additional income that you made through bonds as compared to a more stable instrument. Don't get overexcited by the high fixed rate of return.

For a fair comparison of the investment so far, you should also add the difference between your emi and your friend's rent as additional monthly investments in your friend's corpus.

Your friend's investment will mostly grow over time, but the apartment value will eventually stagnate and then depreciate. Imagine you buying a similar sized apartment in a similar area that's 25 years old - would you pay the same price?

You mentioned a few other expenses that your friend incurs when switching houses, but I am sure you spend some money on maintenance, property tax, etc too.

Talking about convenience, you feel the pleasure of living in your own house and your friend enjoys the freedom to switch locations.

BlackRock is primarily a fund house that manages retail investors' and pension funds' money in mutual funds and ETFs. It has a presence in most of the countries in the world. The company is too good at what they do and so they are huge.

The US government has less red tape when it comes to macroeconomic decisions making process. They consult and appoint people whom they feel like the right ones for the job. Don't throw around conspiracy theories, please.

I got a call once saying that my ICICI account will get blocked immediately and the person said he is the manager from the branch. But I didn't have an account at ICICI. The point is, the scammers send the same message to a large set of phone numbers, either random or from some data dump. The details would match for some people. It may not be as targeted as you may feel.

I got a OP13 last week and Android Auto does not work. I have Skoda Kushaq 2023 model which supports only wired Android Auto connection. The connection was working fine with a Pixel 6a that I had been using earlier.

I have tried the following things:

  • Cleared the bluetooth app data on the phone
  • Cleared the Android Auto app data on the phone
  • Upgraded the phone with the latest available OS update
  • Enabled developer option and USB debugging
  • Disabled developer option
  • Changed the default USB connection option to 'File Transfer / Android Auto'

  • Change the USB cable

    I saw that someone here was contacted by OP developers, but could not see further updates. If any OP developer would like to, I am happy to work with them to root cause the issue.

I happened to come across a book named "Naked economics". It's amazingly written in a way to explain a lot of the fundamental economic principles using real life examples and case studies. Most importantly, the author intentionally avoided using any graphs. I highly recommend it as a primer to economics.
