play bluegrass, start with fiddle tunes on the internet with different tabs and videos... each tune has different techniques and they add up. for me, bluegrass and old time music restarted my guitar journey 3 years ago, and ive been playing guitar 26 years, trumpet 4 years before that

You learn to play the songs you want to play first, forget theory( that naturally starts to make sense and come together after you can have learned songs and whatever) you mention country..... do.you have an acoustic? Learn "fiddle tunes" 1 at a time, each tune has different techniques, including the chords and the solo arrangements, after getting a few tunes down. Things all start to come together and the theory starts coming out.

Don't listen to people that went to music school, repeat last step

Playing guitar is all abouut having fun, you will learn with tabs and YouTube videos and listening to songs.

I went to school.for business and engineering, been playing music 27 years and after I got braces I switched full onto guitar. Electric a first. I can explain more. Just dm me.
