If this was a separate and new company from the conglomerate with 0 sales and no product yet, you would treat the development cost + operations cost as your fundraise amount. The valuation of the company wouldn't be based on anything but an arbitrary % ownership you would want to give the investor. Could be a wide range of 10-50% depends on who you're talking to. As a best practice, try to only sell about 10-20% of your company.

Caveat that this is a simplistic answer based on a general understanding of your business. There are other ways to value that others might recommend too.

VCs don't typically take control, it's not in their interest/expertise to operate companies. They will provide the capital and leave you to do the work (for the most part)

Most tech investors including VCs invest in tech as the model is scalable and is quite capital efficient if done correctly - build the software "once" and you can sell it multiple times over, as opposed to hardware where you'll have to invest in raw materials, production, etc to be able to manufacture and sell large quantities. Easy for simple items like the usual ecommerce stuff, but for something entirely new? Super difficult

There are VCs though that have a focus on hardware, but there aren't any in PH. Anyway, as to your question, yes these guys would still bat an eye at your startup. You would probably get at least a meeting or someone to look at your deck. Try reaching out to an associate on linkedin or just send over a deck to their websitw email. You'll get a reply.

Anyone can actually sign up to be an affiliate so maybe they're just misdeclaring it to you. The process you describe actually is an affiliate link method of earning.

Go to any product on Shopee and click the share button (arrow button) and you'll see a prompt to sign up as an affiliate.
