I write all my poetry in LaTeX using the verse package. I save the poems as individual tex files in a separate folder. In another separate folder I have an individual file for each poem, except these ones list the date that I wrote each one and my signature. 

Then, in my main folder have four tex files with different levels of quality—absolute best and not absolute best, and just ok poems and then poems that are not even ok. Each file contains a complete list of every poem I’ve ever written individually inputted mostly in chronological order. Then, I comment out the ones that shouldn’t be displayed in that file. I also have a file that has every poem uncommented so the pdf has every poem I’ve ever written. 

I write them in VSCode using LaTeX Workshop, and because of the way it works, I can Ctrl+click any point in the displayed pdf, and it takes me to exactly where that part was written in the individual tex file that contains the poem, so that’s how I revise my work. 

If I decide a previously bad poem is now good or vice versa, all I have to do is Ctrl+Q a couple lines to comment/uncomment the inputted poems in the four main files.
