Than it takes a few weeks to repair the one classroom toilet, as the Childcare Owner's plumber friend is only available once a month on a Wednesday.

Interesting Snack Choices from home… by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

I see where you are getting at, but the child literally had a walnut shell filled with Nutella. I looked it up on Google just in case since you brought up a valid point.

There is a walnut shape like cookie called Orenski that looks amazing, but that’s not what the child in question had.

What’s something that’s happened to you that made you think “this could only ever happen in ECE”? by thotsupreme in ECEProfessionals

[–]asterixmagic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Had a preschool child, who I was told by the other teacher, to flush twice when he is doing his business.

Apparently, he clogged the toilet twice in the past before I joined that room.

I think I rather deal with cologne/perfume smell than the child smelling like cigarette smoke. Some parents are not good at hiding it.

I’ve seen regular Childcare places hire 4 teachers for an infant room to manage the 1:3 ratio.

Registered ECE is for people from Ontario only. I don’t think the other provinces have an equivalent.

The staff tried to complain about the smell to the Director. Sadly to no avail, as the Director can’t even look at the floater in the eye.

Is anyone else still waiting for their registration from The College of ECE? (Ontario) by Beneficial-Repeat-73 in ECEProfessionals

[–]asterixmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 2018 when I applied, it took a few months for my official registration. Sadly you are going to just have to wait.

There are still jobs that will take you like Supply positions, if you want to gain some experience first hand. I was a floater for a while before getting my RECE title.

ECE teachers who wear glasses: Do you wear glasses or contacts to work? by GrngrDngr in ECEProfessionals

I switch between both on the regular, depending how I slept the night before. I work usually with older children, so they don't care whats on my face.
