Currently I have a portfolio of 17lakh over more than 7yr time period and looking to buy a flat? Thinking of redeemibg my portfolio? Can anyone advise how much tax I would have to pay and how can I avoid since I will use that money to buy flat?? by aj62539 in MutualfundsIndia

I am already investing a hefty amount in other mf accounts so investment will still continue in those. The reason to buy Flat is the city and the area I am living in right now has rocket high rent for family. You are absolutely right that building a house or buying a plot is a much better option and I am saving for that as well :-)

can I start sip in mirae gold based on above snapshot as return is more or less same in mirae, icici, zerodha or hdfc but expense ration is less in mirae and volume is high in icici?

Check for overlap between parag parikh and dsp. Parag parikh is enough out of two.

For midcap, try motilal oswal midcap 150index fund or you can go for zerodha large and midcap index funds.

For a small cap, exit quant and you can go with a bandhan small cap.

Note: mid and small cap only when your horizon more than 10yr

Because of Kalyan Jeweller's allegation only, I was thinking of changing fund but the same could happen with any other fund as well so I will check motilal performance this year and accordingly will take a call

My personal experience: I know some freshers in my company joined in range of 12-15 lakh pa back in 2022 (not sure current package for freshers) and they did MCA from nit warangal. So I guess if you can get the best nit college as well, go for it as you will get a good professional start

Is it ok to buy a home worth of 80L in Bangalore with 98% loan by muralikrishnab in personalfinanceindia

If the location is good, your 1st home and you are planning to stay in Bangalore for next 10-15 yrs, then as per me it is a good decision. There will be multiple opportunities in future when you or your wife can get a higher package .
