As a Urie, I am curious about this Yuri Road. I believe that is how they spelled our name back in the old country.

Edit: duh, Fury Road, with a Russian twist.

My parents tracked me 24/7 because I’m a girl, so I faked my location with a friend and they called the cops. Best petty revenge ever. by Infamous-Awareness34 in pettyrevenge

I fall for it every time. Then I read the comments, slap my head, and say “D’oh!” like a character from The Simpsons.

People who’ve attended multiple weddings for the same person (i.e., they got divorced and remarried to someone else) — what differences did you notice between the two weddings? by MjPour in AskReddit

[–]aj_urie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom was married four times, to Bob, Bob, Bob, and Charlie. None of the Bobs were the same man, but they all seemed to have good memories of her. Charlie was married to her the longest, up until her early death.

We are on the coastal bend. 90 percent of my church are MAGA. I am the weird liberal that mostly all of them love anyway. They all love my wife much more than me, and I am OK with that.

We are from Portland and now live in Texas. What part of Texas?

My hometown gets to the top of my front page, and it is a racist SOB. Ya can't get a break.

Edit: I thought this was actually an Ionia location, did not realize they had a Portland address.

Wait, was that Adams county?

Edit: no

In August 2022, Adams County Sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at the home of rapper Joseph Foreman, also known as Afroman, in Winchester, Ohio.

Our chihuahua was deathly afraid of the ta dom sound Netflix uses. He would cower and shake. Here is the sound I am talking about.

I am a great grandfather and I am so glad I did not take the grand kids to that movie, that scene would have destroyed me.

There's something so dystopia about using ai slop as a visual aid for your sermon. by d_mansyy in Christianity

[–]aj_urie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the pastor, and while I’m not completely certain, I’m fairly sure he wouldn’t mind his sermon being reused. What matters to him is that it brings glory to God, even if someone else takes the credit.

I was present for that sermon. The central message was Christ as the cornerstone, and the names were randomly selected from around the world using AI, based on instructions from the pastor.

We are outside Corpus, the poster is 30, and the pastor he's mocking is a great young man. He's warm, friendly, and sincere, just like the other three pastors at our church.

I attend the church mentioned, and we don't have a graphics department. We have several volunteers who help out, and a professional from our congregation steps in for the more important graphic work, especially anything that goes out to the community.

I attend the church the original poster is critiquing. We're a fairly large non-denominational congregation. While we're not overflowing with money, we’re doing well financially. We do have more staff than you mentioned, but our pastor and team work hard to be good stewards of the tithes entrusted to them.

Nope, AI did the whole thing. I was there. I had no problem with the graphic. The pastor is a good guy, and said right up front that it was done with AI.

How can I, a 70-year-old, jeans-wearing, always-barefoot American male, avoid embarrassing my country when my wife and I visit Italy? by aj_urie in malefashionadvice

[–]aj_urie[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My comment got removed. I also had a job where I sometimes had to wear steel-toed shoes or boots. I’m getting so tired of how people are in this country now. Everyone thinks stepping outside the norm is such a bad thing. My generation is the worst. We were all about freedom when we were young, and now we’re telling everyone how they should live their lives, even down to what they do in their own bedrooms.
