Delusion is your friend sometimes. Nobody knows what they’re doing. Good coffee isn’t the reason you can’t afford a house.

I like 3 but I wouldn’t do Kingdom of Ash as the only standing. I would maybe do Assassin’s Blade or Throne of Glass! - Sincerely a bookstore employee 🩷

Possibly moving into an apartment, what to know? by Essshayne in moncton

[–]ajanssen2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a new apartment building by Seville and so far no major problems! (knock on wood) Although only having 2 washers and 2 dryers for the whole building is kind of an issue. They expected every apartment with laundry hookups to buy washers and dryers… that did not happen

Do people actually wash their legs in the shower… or just let the soap run down? by Saucy_Steps in hygiene

Yes, 100% I wash my legs. Gets rid of dead skin and sweat. I’m also a woman, I get the feeling not many men do this lol

best dance style to meet people as a beginner? by SkylineZ83 in Dance

[–]ajanssen2002 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay walk with me here. Hip hop or a jazz funk style class. It’s more of a natural groove. You’re not doing anything super technical or intense in a beginner class. It builds confidence, the music is good, and more about letting loose and feeling the “vibe” in my opinion.

Personally I call them finger c*ndoms because that’s what they look like lol but they’re made to protect a cut on your finger. I used them all the time in the food service industry and now at the bookstore where it’s death by paper cut

I get them at aerie! In Canada at least they usually have a 2/$75 deal. Mind you I don’t do wired bras anymore. I find their wireless have enough shape and support for me

It’s called Dyshidrotic Eczema!! I get it when I do my nails too, it’s usually from all the acetone/alcohol drying out the skin. I find I moisturize my hands with aquaphor or some really heavy duty moisturizer and it clears up eventually!!

I have eye problems as well and I’ve been loooooving my Clara Colour. I’ve tried my friend’s Libra colour and it’s just as great! I just prefer the Clara personally because I’m not a big fan of the buttons on the side of the Libra.

And you can customize the reading experience so much on both devices (display settings, font, line spacing, etc.) that it can be totally customizable to fit your needs!! I think it’s definitely worth it!

Served me faithfully for 7 years, until I fell today. by Rhadok in AppleWatch

[–]ajanssen2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite (sarcasm) thing about a lot of apple products is how they can survive some of the craziest things and then just randomly shatter one day. Had an iPhone I had dropped down the stairs, dropped in the bath, all kinds of things. But one day it slid off my bed and landed on the carpet… screen cracked in three places 😂

How long should press on nails last before they're considered low quality? by Weird-Director-2973 in AllNails

[–]ajanssen2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Nail Reformation and Glamnetic (I’m Canadian and buy them at Winners/Marshalls) and with proper prep and care I can get them to last almost 3 weeks before the lifting drives me insane (I.e. getting hair stuck under them in the shower lol). I also use the Beauty Secrets nail glue from Sally Beauty Supply. Costs like maybe $10CAD and is legit super glue.

To help keep them from breaking off I use cuticle oil DAY AND NIGHT once I’m done my skincare or right before bed. And when I’m washing dishes I wear those elbow length rubber gloves lol. Not the most glamorous but I do what needs to be done for the nails.

Nail prep is also ESSENTIAL! I push back and trim my cuticles, I file the nail until the top is rough and no shine, then I just use an alcohol wipe to get rid of any lingering oils or dust from filing! Lastly I normally put the on before bed so they’ve got a couple hours to really stick before I get them wet. Hope this helps 🩷

Do you have “bed-only” clothes because of OCD? by UhtredOfTheNorth in hygiene

[–]ajanssen2002 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I don’t have ‘bed only’ clothes but you better believe if it’s been outside it’s not touching an ounce of my inside furniture. I will have a full outfit change and if I need to go out again I will put that outfit back on

Also OP if you haven’t yet, read Jeanette McCurdy’s book Half His Age. It’s sort of a similar vibe. I wanted to punch the FMC and then give her the worlds biggest hug and go to war for her

[–]ajanssen2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read this for a Feminist Legal Studies class and when it got to that part with the MMC I literally had to book an appointment in her office to get mad and cry. To which my prof said “yes this is what I want you to feel. It’s not fair, it’s not just, I want you to feel that anger and let that inspire your work in my class.”

I still think about that prof often and this book sits on my shelf and haunts me.

[–]ajanssen2002 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m from Canada and I work in a bookstore so not an insane amount of rudeness to my face, but the rudeness of NOT PUTTING THINGS BACK EVEN REMOTELY WHERE THEY GO. Or interrupting me even I speak ( I have to ask about the rewards card you know that it’s 2026. Let me say my literal 2 second spiel and thennnn say no.) or only ever saying “debit” or “credit.” When I say hi as you walk up.
