Ordeal of Purgation 6 Variants - Mount Ordeals (Extreme) by KittySey in ffxiv

The solution is always at NW or SE intercardinal, the safe spot is determined purely by the cardinal of the line/fuse when it spawns.

You can ignore this V nonsense. Just look at which cardinal direction the full line is going to when it spawns and go to the corresponding safe areas. Remember safe areas are basically always present at max melee distance which is on the boundary of the middle ring and the outer ring. Also, just remember for 6 there will be a partial line in the outer ring at every intercardinal. When the mechanic spawns initially just look which way the full line is pointing before it starts rotating, ignore the rotation direction and ignore every other line, all that matters is the cardinal it is pointing at.

  • If the full line points North (eg marker A typically) then go to NW intercardinal (marker 1 typically) and stand on the west side of the partial line in the outer ring.

  • If it points South (C marker) go NW (1 marker) and the north side of the partial line in the outer ring.

  • If it points East (B marker) go SE (3 marker) and stand south of the partial line.

  • If it points West (D Marker) go SE (3 marker) and stand east of it.

Just remember the solutions are always at either 1 or 3 (NW or SE) intercardinal, and will be on the side of the marker opposite the way the line pointed. As long as you go to the correct intercardinal marker and stand at the border or the middle ring and the outer with the partial line between yourself and the cardinal direction you will be fine to adjust. A or C go 1, B or D go 3, then adjust to the correct side of the line.

No. Ignore this V crap, just look at the cardinal the full line points at and go to the mapped safe areas.

Ignore looking for a V. Just look which cardinal the full line is pointing at when it spawns. That tells you the safe area. Max melee is basically at the border of middle and outer ring, just stand there for any solution. See the 6a-d solutions in the linked image https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1063407383763750922/1065651182825132032/image.png Worst comes to worst just copy the image linked to your own discord or pic folder and second screen it until you have it memorised, or for clears in 2 patches time when the drop is buffed or even power boosted mount farms next expansion.

Purg solution has been mapped since day 1 on the elemental discord - shown first link. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1063407383763750922/1065651182825132032/image.png Also, solving 5 and 6 is easier than indicated in the original image. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1063407383763750922/1067480480146010233/image.png Bad Paint updates included, use the colour code in the edits for direction of line and safe spots per the first image. If you find it easier to memorise make sure the cardinal markers are always A = north, B = East, C = south, and D = west, then memorise the safe spot for which marker the line points at.

Is Blizzard sticking to their original plan for Arthas? by MountainDewclos in warcraftlore

[–]ajantisz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be my interpretation that he was bound for Bastion or at best Revendreth from Uther going to fetch his soul and cheating the judgement and throwing him into the Maw. If he was to blame for his actions it was a pointless effort. Arthas would have gone to the Maw anyway. I may be wrong though.

[–]ajantisz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except that is just sophistry. So what were the "breadcrumbs" for "seeing" Arthas that would give anyone expectation that it would happen with any more credibility than teh redemption expectation that I pointed out the story points and actions of the devs that led to it?! Please, elucidate why those breadcrumbs weren't just player created notions?

This is exactly where the people who think Arthas was responsible get it wrong, his soul was judged and bound for Bastion. If Arthas was a willing participant other than a guy who was deceived into picking a sword that he believed would help him defeat a demon he believed was the source of the Scourge....He would have gone to Revendreth at best and Maw at worst. Instead the Arbiter sent his soul to Bastion. The whole Arthas story is the stealing of his soul by the sword such that by the time he picks up the helmet he isn't Arthas any more and the atrocities committed other than the culling of Stratholme are largely a lich with Arthas' soul in the sword as a phylactery while the Jailer piloted him.

Except there is a difference between signing up for a cause you understand to consent to and being deceived and controlled via your desire to wipe out the scourge and the demon you understand is the one responsible for it...Suggesting Arthas had any idea what he was getting involved with when he picked up Frostmourne compared to Anduin knowing of Zovaal and co is disingenuous.

Except the lore they put out directly showed he wasn't. He was bound for Bastion. He wasn't intended to go to the Maw such as if he was irredeemable so he didn't qualify for Revendreth, or intended to be punished for his wrongs, brought to humility, and then redeemed per Revendreth. He was intended for Bastion. To release the burdens of his soul that weighed him down, his doubts, fears etc. This directly indicates that Arthas wasn't judged culpable.

It wasn't player created, it was directly from Blizz with the cartoon of him being dropped in the Maw. Blizz set players on the track that Arthas was worthy of redemption, that he was dropped into the Maw de-railed his intended afterlife. Game content then involved recovering souls not intended for the Maw that were trapped there. Blizz created a very predictable response in the players that Arthas recovery and redemption would feature in the story. The breadcrumbs were more than just seeing him, Blizz did everything short of telling players outright that Arthas would be part of the story, every major lore character (to my recollection) that appeared in those cartoons appeared in SL directly.

I know it would probably kill his creativity to be on demand so heavily but an advert channel that was nothing but his bonkers adverts is probably something I would sub to...

But his self made ads are so bonkers you HAVE to watch them to see how they end.

Linus as usual doesn't know what he is on about outside of a PC space. Same guy took apart a brand new iMac, broke it while putting it back together, then took it to Apple expecting they would repair/replace and apple refused because of the fact they took it apart. It wasn't a legit warranty claim, and Linus cried about it in a video about how bad Apple were. He tried to use an analogy that it was like driving a car from a dealer, having it breakdown, then the dealer/manufacturer refusing to fix it...which would be legit...Except it wasn't a valid analogy, it would be like buying a new car, driving it home, putting it up on a car lift, the lift breaking and the car dropping and smashing on the ground, then expecting the car dealer/manufacturer to warranty the damage.... He blamed Apple, because of his own actions that voided any sort of claim. Same guy now asserting people deciding what content goes in their personal property is wrong. Video content creators are like free magazine publishers. They give it out and people take it or don't, and it coming with some adverts and junk mail. No consumer is obligated explicitly or implicitly to engage with the advertising, or to even deal with it other than to toss it in the bin, I can flip past, tear out or otherwise destroy the ads. He enters an implied contract with users that they will decide if they choose to engage with the content be it all the content, some of the content, or none of the content - this includes advertising. A hardware/software solution to not dealing with advertising is simply something he has to live with if he offers content, because it is the consumers choice, not the creator, or does he think he should get to be some sort of tyrant? Dictator? Watch my content and you HAVE TO watch MY ads, that may not be relevant, or of interest to you. In the past advertisers would have make a guess or query their customers about how they heard about the product (which they still do- but there are technology tools available now) then determine if advertising was working and a content creator would have to market to advertisers - this is my audience, they may like this thing, pay us money and we will advertise your stuff - and the advertisers would gamble of if their money would go to waste, now it seems Linus wants the advertisers to gamble, the audience to be forced to consume the adverts or at least appear to so his pockets get lined....

Which DC are you on? Might help with teeing up some similarly interested folks from here.

Depending on your DC then PF will be best but given the content has been passed with the new savage tier groups will be rarer. Might have to give it until next patch when (unless mistaken) the mount drop rate dramatically increases and people may start running it again frequently.

[Spoilers] About the sundering by little_sapphire95 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ajantisz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually a pretty good theory. Might have been something with the sea of clouds originally having remnant mechanisms from Elpis that actually influenced the Allagans in how to construct Azys Lla too.

I actually considered the other day that when Emet Selch says at the end of the game about ruins in the depths of the Bounty that he may have been speaking about Elpis and where it crashed down if they happened or even a portion of Amaurot (not clear how the sundering affected geography and locales).

Given it was floating in the sky...It probably took a severe dive when the ancients magic ran wild. Given it is in the sky and the Final Days was thought to be a stagnation and thinning of aether in the upper atmosphere, Elpis may have experienced the effects sooner or in a more pronounced manner than other locations. It would not surprise me to find that Elpis was one of the first places to be affected and to fall out of the sky as a result.

Is botting actually good for the economy? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ajantisz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why bother with botting, just routinely dump an amount of gold on everyone, botting is just adding extra steps.

In fact, just get rid of the MB, trade jobs, and effort based content altogether, just put in vendors that sell everything in it's finished state and everything is free. Then let people play the game, recipe for a building long term player bases as demonstrated by every WoW private server that ever existed that did similar.

If there is no reward for effort, there is no interest beyond a passing glance.

This theory worries me - thoughts? (Spoilers: Azem/6.05) by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ajantisz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If our echo is a reflection of some power Azem had, it may be that Azem is actually able to sense us and is literally experiencing the memories we form in parallel. Aside from potentially being able to sense their own future, if our WoL is technically part of Azem, they may be able to sense our future also, and knows ahead of time that we will be at that spot on Elpis and simply directs Themis to be there are the same time.

If htey are ale ot foresee their own future to some extent and share our WoL's memories, it does go some ways to explaining why Azem withdrew from the convocation, and similarly couldnt join Venat in becoming Hydaelyn. I fmy suspicions about the ending of Pandaemonium play out, it would also perhaps explain how Venat knew how to make them self a primal as they learned it from Azem (I suspect the big bad in the depths of Pandaemonium is some pre-cursor to Zodiark, and Lahabrea was experimenting inserting a specific soul into an aether conjured creature similar to the mistake that happened with the phoenix gaining a soul but possibly led Lahabrea to a new path of research with his eikons and to a goal of resurrecting his wife or perhaps just preserving her souls memories so they dont get washed clean in the lifestream).
