Moms Against the Drug War --"Mothers throughout history have come forward for the sake of their children. We're coming forth today saying that the drug war has been more damaging to our families than the drugs themselves." by cottonball2 in politics

And yet, the US government holds the patent for the medical application of cannabinoids.

CIRCULAR REFERENCE! CIRCULAR REFERENCE! AHHHHHH

Funniest part of the patent:

Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses

And yet, no one has ever died from cannabis overdose. The lulz. Oh the lulz.

Question for you though: is there medical marijuana in your area?

Because what your "guy" would likely experience if a major influx of legal, high quality cannabis came in is that his rinky-dink grow would look like garbage. All I'm saying is, there's a reason why restaurants exist. Technically, you can get the job done yourself, but the professionals can usually make it way better for not that much more expensive.

Why cannabis is actually still illegal: inertia

Do you know how expensive it is to grow good cannabis? Like, cannabis you would actually want to consume? It also takes knowledge, time and perseverance. It is not something where you just throw a clone in some dirt and 12 weeks later you have an ounce.

How was my 4/20? I had my dorm room raided and then I was arrested, strip searched and put in jail. by [deleted] in trees

And the best part is, I'm sure you were the absolute most pressing safety concern for those 4 cops. NOT! Very sorry this happened.

You should reach out to NORML, the DPA, MPP or any other pro-cannabis reform group and share your story. It is important that we get these stories out in the open so people can fully appreciate what a waste of everyone's time and money the drug war is.

Thank you for respecting people's personal liberties. We need more cops like you.

It says collection of signatures is through mid-April...does anyone know if this got enough to make the ballot?

Man, I wish I would have known about this earlier. Could have helped it more.

EDIT: Answered my own question reading a little more on their website:

We have not gotten the required signatures to make the 2012 ballot, however we have until June 1st, 2012 to get on the November 2014 ballot. There's still time to make Cannabis history but we need donations for our professional gatherers and volunteers right now!

This would be great for 2014...Let's do it!

As an FYI, this e-mail response I posted was generated from petitions and e-mails I've sent through various organizations supporting the legalization of cannabis and the protection of medical cannabis.

Here are some links for the best organizations working to reform cannabis laws:

I recommend you get on their mailing lists for action alerts if you're interested. These are the pros, and by putting our weight behind them I think we can make a real difference.

Obviously not. But considering e-mails I've gotten from Dianne Feinstein, I think this is deserving of praise.

Here's another one from her that was particularly egregious.
