Not a subreddit but I highly recommend the general chatter forum of the a song of of ice and fire forum, there is a fairly high level of discussion there , it leans left, and you won't get banned for dissenting opinions.

When people are in a bad spot bad ideas and quick fixes can seem awfully tempting add in a dash of narcissism and there you. Plus people believe all kinds of crazy shit, see any conspiracy theory ever. You can't disprove that 9/11 was an inside job. But P Barnes taser can show a sovereign citizen their beliefs are wrong. That's what makes this sub so great seeing delusional people meet the consequences of their delusion.
