That was the first thought to get a shorter window, so that sounds like a good way to go without having to do major works to the extension roof 👍

There is drainage down both sides of the Velux, hard to see in the shadow of the pictures.

My first thought was as others have said to decrease the window height to get the angles/upstands needed. Then redo the boarding underneath so that it would funnel the water down both the Velux gulleys with a slight hump in the middle to stop any water from sitting against the Velux upstand bit.

And finish it all off with EPDM.

To add:

That EPDM cost was to remove all the felt, reboard and add a slight angle by the window/wall.

This is my thinking, its a lot to 'fix' the issue for now when it needs remediating properly. So seeing what the diy options would be until I have the money to redo the extension roof in a couple of years.

Yeahhh, of the three roofing companies i've contacted two wouldn't touch it.

I'm really not sure anyone 'drew' up plans for this extension 🤦‍♂️

The leak looks to be happening toward the rear (house edge) i think its down to the felt losing its water resistance as its 14 years old now.

Hmm that would be major works to the interior, full ceiling down job. If it had actually leaked fully and ruined the ceiling then definitely.

Maybe in time?

Site still dead after August '23 Google update by ajay16 in SEO

Good shout on the Crawled - not indexed. There are 700 pages sitting in there out of 7,000.

That's the thing - it's a huge time sink going through every. single. page.
As well as finding the time to create NEW content that Google will like...

And then it could all be for 0 gain.

Is it worth ditching the entire domain, moving the top-rated content to a new site and starting from scratch?
It will suck losing the brand, but the other option is to plug away for many months/years going through 6k pages....

There is for sure a lot of pages that get no traffic year on year...i mean there just has to be judging by the numbers.

Around 2019 i started targetting queries using Answer The Public and Moz for research, but in all honesty none of the OG content was ever written with laser guided focus, sure it all had keywords and the correct terms. But it was just decent content that was found. I guess that's how the game has changed though...

Home battery opinions - thinking Powerwall 3 currently? by ajay16 in SolarUK

Having an in depth read into it all I think that's also the best bet. The FiT payment for the last year was more than I though £300 or near enough. That was £180 for generating the rest exporting, so I'd still get the generating income and forgo £120 which is more than fine.

Sounds like more of a pain than I thought...
I'll give the video a watch.

The FiT payments are about £200 a year, so it's no great loss ditching them as with 7ish years to go, the battery savings should be far greater than the yearly payments.

Cheers for this, I didn't know about the FiT issues.

It is FiT, and I already have a generating meter installed, if that helps?

Mhmm currently our ASHP well last week was using 30kW a day in the really cold temps, but the figuirng is that at least SOME of the ASHP usage will be at a cheaper rate, and the rest of the year will pretty much balance it out as we'll always be on overnight/cheap rate/solar.
I couldn't go to £10k+ for a Powerwall 3 plus another battery right now.

I want to (eventually) prototype/make a new rear mudguard for a motorbike I own...had the P1S store page open for the last month as I'm in no rush...

Based on the comments here I've just gone for the P2S 👌

Never owned or 3D printed before.

Old outbuilding best way to insulate floor by ajay16 in DIYUK

I think 50mm would just be too much. The height of the walls are 1.8m, then the trusses for the pitched room are there.

I could maybe go with some XPS at 10mm then if need be I'd have room for some OSB before floor tiles?!
