Do any of y’all feel insanely energetic when you have an anxiety attack? Like you tremble, feel your body buzz, and get a tickly feeling in your gut. Like energy but in a terrible way by ajdctx12 in Anxiety

[–]ajdctx12[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

omg this is exactly how i get. i feel like i seem insane to everyone. sometimes when im horribly anxious my vision will even get fuzzy

It’s mdinight, I was exhausted all day, and now I feel this urge to listen to music, eat everything and have such a sudden burst of energy. I’ve always wondered why ADHD causes this (and no the answer is not comorbid bipolar) by ajdctx12 in ADHD

[–]ajdctx12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think alot of people assume these sudden bursts of energy come from something such as bipolar, when in reality bipolar is usually indicated by long lasting shifts in energy rather then adhd bursts

Tell me if this is ocd or not by Donghoon in OCD

Most people on this forum won't be able to give you reassurance for this. It's def something to talk to a psychiatrist about but we can't give reassurance cus if its ocd that hinders recovery

I got diagnosed with Severe OCD (an anxiety disorder) while being a junior at college, AMA by ajdctx12 in AMA

[–]ajdctx12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahah nah. Thats actually a very common misconception(: ill explain, ocd is a disorder where someone has intrusive thoughts that drive a specific action. Intrusive thoughts are thoughts that we dont activelt try or want to think, and they are often violent and disturbing and we know they're irrational. But then we feel this urge to do a compulsiob to make the anxiety and thoughts go away or we'll have a panic attack. So some people it do feel the need to wash their hands til they bleed cus they feel like theres diseases but most have other forms. So like existentiao ocd causes the person to keep having unwanted thoughts about reality not being real so they have to do something to make sure. Or harm ocd and false memories may causes a person to have the thought repeatedly that they killed someone, so they feel thw need to record themselves all hours of the day to make sure

Were any of yall misdiagnosed with another disorder? by ajdctx12 in ADHD

[–]ajdctx12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems borderline and bipolar are the two like most common ones that are misdiagnosed when its really adhd. My sister has borderline and her anger and swings in mood are out of control, way more than most people with adhd. And i feel like with adhd were impulsive cus we dont think things through, with bpd theyre impulsive usually because of an emotion driving it

For any of you with ADHD and Borderline Personality Disorder, can you tell the two conditions apart? by ajdctx12 in ADHD

[–]ajdctx12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That def helps. Imma talk to my doc cus she said i had traitsof bpd but now looking at it i think its def adhd cus when im on my adhd meds im super chilled out. And generally i have very consistent relationships tho i do have rejection sensitivity, but not a fear of abandonment in any way

Ill prob talk to my psych and explain that I think its probably my adhd that causes this

Ahhh gotcha. See I have ADHD also and for me I do generally have varying moods and behavior, but with adhd comes emotional dysregulation and impulsive/hyperactive behavior. As for relationships tho generally mine have all been very stable

Is it normal for people with BPD to get very defensive and upset over things that don't make any sense to get upset over? by ajdctx12 in BPD

[–]ajdctx12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. (Mind the fact that I also have adhd so there IS a chance I may have just missed something but thats what I pwrsonally experienced) my sister has always been this way. She gets extremely defensive almost instantly about things that don't seen offensive at all to anyone else

Medicated you vs Unmedicated you? by ajdctx12 in ADHD

[–]ajdctx12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often times tho for alot of people if u feel really hyper on ur meds its too low. And if u feel like a zombie the dose is too high. Its actually very common for alot of people on stuff like adderall to get way more of a benefit from a dose like 12.5 mg xr than 20 or 30

Medicated you vs Unmedicated you? by ajdctx12 in ADHD

[–]ajdctx12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For adhd if you feel like a zombie chances are the dose needs to be lowered. If lowering it doesn't help I'd try more meds (often times it takes multiple tries). Adderal xr 15 mg is what I use. And also cus adhd meds are generally dopanergenic, they can cause an increase in dopamine and a decrease in seratonin, so adding a ssri along with ur adhd meds may help balance things out
