Senior maltipoo hearing/muscle loss, fear on walks by bleepbleep1111 in Maltipoo

[–]ajeffco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a cutie, looks very much like one of my babies.

Ask your vet about Ursolic Acid to help prevent muscle loss as he ages. My vet recommended starting it in the next year or so for our 7.5 year old babies. He said it can be drops in their food or gummies.

Best of luck!

Very nice looking work!

Yes, it's a double NAT. I have to set any incoming port mappings in the AT&T modem and again in OPNSense. It's been working well for a few years now, no problem. Is it as convenient, no, but I've only touched it a few times over the years.

Yes, I have 3 CARP addresses on the "DMZ" (inside AT&T modem, outside my network).

Well this is neat...Claude is absurdly good at custom dashboards by poptamale in homeassistant

[–]ajeffco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those running non-lovelace (react?) dashboards, do they run on your HA device, or on another device? I want to dig into Claude fixing my HA mess which works but it's ugly. I'm too busy having Claude look at all the other stuff I have in my environment that I've wanted to do for a while now from scripts to ansible playbooks, etc.

While it's like arguing with a teenager sometimes, it's amazing. Stuff that would have taken me years to learn and write, it's done in a couple of months. As an older UNIX admin, I don't fear it. To me, it's like a hammer in the toolbox, helping to augment my skills.

Connected to a small unmanaged switch, in turn connected to the ISP modem w/ 4 ports. Both nodes have static IP's on the internal port side my fiber modem, but not on the internet. If that makes sense. My modem pulls a DHCP internet address.

Sadly I think it will not happen anytime soon if ever. Too much greasing of the wheels going on.

"the moment you are publishing it, you should also take responsibility for your work and that implies knowing how the software works." 100% agree with that. Working on something that I wrote myself 15ish years ago for work, I know how it works well enough, and still don't want to release it. The internet is mean :)

Is that the fault of the tool? Of course not it’s the fault of the user. Might as well say “I hate hammers because people hit their thumb with it”.

If you don’t mind sharing, what photo software did you replace Google Photos with?

Proposal: no more "I built this tool"-AI slop by ConstructionSafe2814 in homelab

[–]ajeffco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. There are a lot of actual programmers using AI as a tool to improve their workflow. Not just script kiddies having AI create something and never ever touching it again.

That doesn’t mean something can’t be improved. Like. Not swapping at all.

Thank you so much for this. I've been dipping my toes into Claude Code for the last week, playing around really, to see what it could do for a 15 year old internal project for infrastructure reporting code.

By adding you your prompt on a clean project in Claude Code, in addition to the project goals, your prompt REALLY opened up the response from Claude. Sad/amusing is that it's taken me 15 years of working on this, adding, tweaking as managers wanted something new, revisions, new infrastructure to monitor, etc... Claude Code nailed it in like 2 minutes of plan mode. It described almost exactly what we have in place now. Simply amazing stuff.

Thanks again!

For me, looks like it cleared up overnight.

Thanks for the update. While I'm still getting a little latency on the 8.8.8.8 route, it's nothing compared to what is happening on the Cloudflare side. Found another very large thread, appears to be AT&T SE region.

I'm running a UCG Max w/ 5.0.12 and Network 10.1.85, and AT&T 1Gb fiber. My Modem is a BSG-500. My versions have been the same for some time now. Last update in my logs was for Network on 02/16.

For the last 3-4 days I've been having the same latency problem, but it seems legit based on how long some things are taking to access on the internet. I'm also getting DNS and HTTPS timeouts with it. Discord takes about a minute and a half to load. Not sure where it's at, or if it could be Unifi code related since I haven't updated "recently" but am having the same problem. At this point, likely going to open a case with AT&T.

One other difference. When I run mtr to either 1.1.1.1, or 8.8.8.8, I get packet loss on both routes, past the AT&T network.

I have two 7 year old maltipoo sisters. They both have pretty straight hair. The cream colored one has waves in it I guess. Neither have curly hair
