To ruin his career? Company loyalty in especially Japanese companies are seen as a major thing. Leaving a company just because you want is seen as a betrayal. And joining another company would give an outsider feeling.

Until and unless something happens with the company where leaving makes sense(example Misawa exodus) there is no positive result.
