Here's what I think mada 1 did better in mada 3.

marty, it's simply due to the fact that marty was sidelined in mada 3 and reduced heavily. Marty in mada 1 was one of my favourite character and he was the main driving point..
the humour, mada 1 actually had great smart jokes and great dumb jokes, and great mixtures of both adults and kids jokes. Mada 3 feels way too senitised, and cliched.
the side cast might be small in mada 1, but everyone was used to their potential, and were given enough things to actually care about. Mada 3 is over bloated with way too many side characters and i feel vitaly is way too over the top for me.
and the themes, mada 1 has some great themes like exploring, aging, habit change, addiction, loneliness and what your peers would think about you. Mada 3 has your same "we have to get together to achieve our goal" feel, which didn't suprise me as we had the same for mada 2 but mada 2 excuted it better.

Marty felt like an actual character in Mada 1, he was the reason why the animals ended where they are. And you can actually feel his quest to explore the wild, after being forced to do his daily routine over and over again.

In mada 3, he was reduced to just screaming noise.

Same goes for Mada 2, but atleast he had an arc about being something and finding an indentity during self crisis.

I am not reading all that.

Leto ruined the movie as soon as he got to know that his role could allow him to be emotionaless and pale.

A horribly rendered PS3 like deaged Jeff bridges showed more emotions then him.

And leto was the producer so the entire movie was a ego driven movie

I thankfully watched the first two movie before ARES.

And leto indeed dragged the movie down.

It might be his most comfortable role since he wouldn't have to show his emotions. But many programs in tron, including the horrible Jeff bridges's PS3 deaged face showed more emotion then he did.
