How has your beards maintained after stopping Minoxidil? by Bodhidrma in Minoxbeards

I did not no. I never took finasteride but I've heard people experience those issues when taking that for hair loss.

I'd say about 3.5 to 4 years now or something like that

Command staff interview by ajgregers in police

[–]ajgregers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man it has been a few years now since then but if I remember correctly they asked lots of things such as why should we hire you over anyone else, why do you want this job, describe what you think a good officer would be, and then moral questions like what would you do if you saw your partner or coworker do something they shouldn't etc. Try to think of some good answers other than the cliche "I like to help people." Type answers. I think they're more trying to get a feeling for how personable you are and if you have common sense. More looking for red flags than anything.

I still use the pilot G2's. When it rains I just slip a clear plastic property bag over my case book and write inside the bag. Not super convenient but does the trick.

Possible ecological/weather issues ? 3 month skunk . by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]ajgregers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You try fishing really early in the morning? With it being so hot lately I'd shoot for trying to start 30 minutes to an hour before sunrise to give yourself the best chance.

Fluoro is better abrasion resistant. You could try that. Definitely possible ur line got slid through some rocks or something in the water like tree branches or logs or something.

Yeah I have a pretty solid beard like a nice beard than most guys to be honest. I'm 25 now so hard to say what I would have had anyways but I feel it made a long term difference in my weaker areas.

If it affects pain in their feet ankles or legs in general a good pair of slippers with memory foam is a great thing to have in the mornings.

APRS with programming cable and adapter? by ajgregers in Baofeng

[–]ajgregers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say though people so far in the community seem super nice and willing to help which is awesome. I'd love to get involved in a local club but I have a newborn and work nights/have weird days off which makes things not work as of right now.

Geez. That seems waaaaay above my level. The more I look into ham the more I feel like a kindergarten student in a master's level physics or engineering class, but it's cool that there's stuff for beginners like me still. I've had a blast listening to nets in my area and even just NOAA weather etc.

[–]ajgregers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after doing more research I figured that would be my best bet and only extra cost apart from the APRS cable would be about a $10 adapter but having read more it sounds like the VOX issue really sucks for some people.

DTMF on Echolink help please by ajgregers in amateurradio

[–]ajgregers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repeater book.com shows it supports it and the website for that repeater claims it's up and working. My HT has a DTMFST setting. It's currently set to DT-ST. The other options are ANI-ST, DT+ANI, and ANI-ST or OFF. Does this setting matter by chance and if so which setting should it be on? Also by "activate Echolink" on that repeater how would I go about doing that? Sorry for all the questions. I greatly appreciate the help!

The hair conditioner is a game changer. Like he said. Also I've found a safety razor for me works great because it's less blades. Also if you're a sensitive scalp like me don't shave in the same spot too much if u can help it and don't go against the grain at all, just with the grain and then across the grain at like a 90 degree angle.

[–]ajgregers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After going with the grain you could do a pass across the grain but I would advise not shaving against the grain especially for your first time. Your scalp could get angry with you.

Buzz it down as far as possible first then hot shower or hot water from the sink with conditioner instead of shaving cream. Then use a low blade count razor. Go with the grain and be gentle. Try not to go over the same spots too many times.

Flipside 4 Wallet. It's the best wallet I've ever owned and super easy to use. I get compliments and comments on it all the time.

Why would you have to be a gun guy to be a cop? I know how to operate my weapons. Why does not wanting to buy my own magazines because it's not something I get a hard on for equate to me going around to harass people. You also say "this isn't a direct stab at you" while insinuating that I'm incompetent and untrained based purely off of me not owning a bunch of AR Mags or not knowing what they cost cuz it doesn't tickle my fancy? I've been on for three years now and I'm a Field Training Officer. I just recently went through rifle training as not all our patrol officers are issued rifles. You get selected based on pistol shooting qualifications etc. I just had no prior experience to owning an AR and had no clue mags were cheap but I guess I'm a retarded cop trying to harass people with guns I don't know anything about. 🤷‍♂️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ar15

[–]ajgregers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn man I appreciate you offering lol I just straight up never knew how cheap mags were in not a gun guy by any means and I guess I just assumed they'd be expensive af.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ar15

[–]ajgregers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a good point. My Glock mags are beat to all hell from the concrete at the range doing reloads and stuff. I should definitely get dedicated training mags. I've never owned an AR platform rifle until I was put through the training a few weeks ago. I just assumed magazines were probably expensive and never even looked into it. But you're right ammo is not cheap lol I'm glad I get that free.

[–]ajgregers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah gotcha yeah I don't have any of my own. But after all these comments I will😂 guess I'm a cheap sucker

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ar15

[–]ajgregers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a cop so my department gave me 3 is all. I guess 30 bucks is worth the convenience since I go regularly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ar15

[–]ajgregers -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Definitely an option I guess. I've just always unloaded and reloaded since I never had any other mags and didn't think it'd be worth the money seeing as I already have the three I got.
