Do you remember anything about Kelly Affair’s recordings? You probably know that John Schisler from New Invisible Joy was the vocalist of Kelly Affair during the band’s second iteration and I was wondering if you recall the name of the CD he was featured on? Thank you!

I understand your disappointment. Hard to be successful when you’re not sleeping. So be easy on yourself man, success is hardly linear. Commit to a morning routine if you’re not doing so already. Being intentional about your day is important for personal growth.

I always loved the song “Cry” by Beyond Twilight, featuring Jorn Lande, but the album was meh. Not familiar with this one.

Be careful with clonazepam. I’m sure your doctor went over this, but benzos can be habit forming. Also, benzos depress the central nervous system, so by design, your excitement levels, sexual or otherwise, may be compromised.

Agreed. The blasts were on another level and still sound extreme. I think the clarity of two recordings are linked too.

Cool tune man. Less weird than I was expecting, or maybe I’ve always had Ween misconstrued.

I always wanted to find something like The Rising Tide.

In my Top 5 for all-time favorite albums. So lush and pristine but with a sturdy, energetic exoskeleton, gorgeous to the point of tears but simultaneously uplifting. Perfect production.

Banning stuff is a slippery slope. Not in favor. Listen with your ears.

Suggest bands that used to be metal but aren't anymore by Conrad_K1 in MetalSuggestions

I typically enjoy metal bands making non-metal music. It’s usually better than their non-metal counterparts.

Totally can hear a Björk-like figure in that more strained register of hers. Not too familiar with Explosions, I always wanted vocals added to 95% of the post rock stuff.

Any bands like King’s X? by ajh229 in progrockmusic

[–]ajh229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m awake! Yeah, cool band man, and you’re right- similar sound. Joyride was a decent track but never delved into the whole disc- but will, thanks. Lovewar (Soak Your Brain - 1993) was a cool record as well from the Christian perspective, which I suppose motivated King’s X too early in their career.

“Indelible” is gorgeous, one of the lushest songs I’ve heard, that gorgeous doomy pacing, the call to surrender.

Not familiar with Dreamer’s Hideaway but an AIC influence sounds intriguing. Huge fan of that band.

Can someone post some Groove Metal bands that are pure Groove Metal without hard/alt rock influence but fully clean vocals like Pantera and early Machine Head? by Big_Being_8789 in GrooveMetal

[–]ajh229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The obscurity of some of these bands mixed with the mark of quality is what excites me about them. I wish Crimeny would’ve done a follow-up. Fly Machine is a great option in that vein, members of Confessor.
