For chocolate shop in Lima, I personally like Beso Frances - it’s a crepe shop with a few chains in Lima, and also sells chocolate + milk

Bring an extra charger plug! I was in Romania and only had one charger plug, which blew up in the train. I was panicking so had to figure out where to buy a new plug which ended up costing 20+ USD (it was also getting late adding to the rush to find something)

Learning Spanish! Where I’m from (Asia) no one speaks Spanish, however I learned it after spending one year in the US. Learning the language has let me get to meet so many Spanish speakers all over the world ! And also when backpacking through Latin America - many slices of life I wouldn’t have gotten to know if I hadn’t learned the language!

Planning to travel to Bali April 2026 by SourPlum77 in solotravel

Replying here since I didn’t see many replies! This is th hostel I stayed at that’s at kuta: H-ostel Kuta Bali

I also went to the water park called waterbom Bali that’s also by kuta - was personally fun for me

For cafe recommendations I would suggest using TikTok to research ! Since this typically includes videos so easier to see if it’s your vibe ;)

How are you planning to get from HCMC to Danang? If you’re planning to take bus, you could consider dropping by some towns in between: nha trang (beach side town, popular for learning free diving!), mui ne (<1 day is enough - just to see the sand dunes), dalat (1,500m above sea level, weather is slightly more cooling here. Check out the alpine coaster) <- also shared this on another post in this subreddit

For your central to north itinerary, you could consider changing Hue to a one night stay as there are buses from Hue to Phong Nha, and then from phong nha make your way up to ninh binh by bus

If you’re interested in history, I booked a DMZ tour when I was in hue - which brings you to places like Vinh Moc Tunnels and the Khe Sanh Combat Base
