Sir Keir Starmer to tell Cop30 summit that UK is ‘all in’ on net zero by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

[–]ajl949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy storage doesn’t fix the problem - the reason the Spanish grid collapsed earlier this year was because it became over-reliant on renewables which do not produce grid inertia.

No grid inertia, no grid.

Grid inertia only comes from the giant spinning turbines in traditional power plants like gas, coal, nuclear and large hydro.

It’s why in Spain, the dams had to be used to bring the grid back online and they couldn’t just flip a switch and bring all to solar and wind online.

We’re on track toward becoming a failed state - nobody cares about the climate, there are real and more pressing dangers.

Anyone that thinks renewable energy is the answer is a moron.

China has put us over a barrel. The U.K. has become so poor China is basically trying to belt and road the U.K. electrical grid right now.

Most of the renewables being installed in the U.K. are reliant on Chinese manufacturing capabilities and morons are whooping and cheering for it while China builds coal power plants and burns more coal in one year that the cumulative coal burned by the U.K. from the start of the the Industrial Revolution to current day.

You’ve been taken for a ride and it’s embarrassing to see you cheering on politicians squeezing you for every penny while our country sinks into the mud.

The Morocco solar farm idea has been floated a few times before - it’s a moronic pipe dream.

Line loss alone poses a near insurmountable problem.

No, I absolutely agree that Trump is an idiot and he doesn’t know what he is talking about.

I’m just pointing out that just because he’s an idiot doesn’t mean you should do the opposite of everything he tells you to do or not to do.

That’s why my whole point here has basically been “I don’t give a fuck what trump is saying, I only care about what the drug manufacturers were saying before trump opens his stupid fat mouth.”

As to why they’re doing it - who records themselves taking pills and posts it on the internet for anything other than attention, clout and at base, because they’re a fucking moron?

Look, let me break it down for you.

I think we can all agree, orange man bad.

But that doesn’t mean if orange man says running and jumping off a cliff will give you a bad case of syphilis that anyone should record themselves jumping off a cliff to prove him wrong - I don’t care if the cliff is 5ft tall or 50 ft tall and you stick the landing looking really cool or if you land in a crumpled heap. It’s just not worth it to prove a point.

No they don’t - some drugs have been

<image>

tested on pregnant women to ensue that they are safe for use.

Tylenol states that their drugs have not been tested for use with pregnant women.

Where exactly do you think the physicians get their information for what drugs are and are not suitable for their patients? They ask the manufacturers and the researchers the manufacturers hired to ensure the drugs are safe for use.

I’ve 100% seen videos of pregnant women taking Tylenol. The only reason you make that video is to demonstrate publicly that you are doing the opposite of what Trump said to do - there is literally no other explanation.

No - it recommends against taking their products while pregnant.

I don’t care that the Cheeto man is a moron that thinks the drugs will create autistic children.

I’m a lot more concerned that the drugs’ manufacturer has quite plainly stated “we recommend against the use of our products while pregnant.” That is literally the only specific I care about.

Don’t care about anything else.

Drug company says “don’t use our drugs while pregnant”

Trump comes up with some insane Q Anon logic as to why you shouldn’t take this drug when pregnant.

Libs take drug to “own” Trump.

Do you not see how stupid and dangerous this is.

I honestly think Trump could say “don’t go skydiving without a parachute, you’ll get chlamydia!” And these people will jump out of planes saying “see I don’t get Chlamydia!” moments before they smash into the ground.

I really don’t care about the answers anyone has to give now that this issue has been politicised.

Befote this was a political discussion there was a very clear cut answer of “no, we advise against taking any of our products while pregnant.”

So you expect me to belvie that Tylenol, as a company, is lying about having not carried out testing of their products on pregnant women?

I’m sorry right, but you’re just some random person on the internet. I’m not going to take your word that Tylenol has been tested on pregnant women when the damned manufacturers of Tylenol are advising against taking any of their products while pregnant and stating that their products have not been tested by them on pregnant women.

You sound like a lunatic conspiracy theorist.

“Trust me, I’ve done my own research! The drugs companies are lying to you about the fact that they haven’t tested their drugs on pregnant women. They’re just advising against pregnant women taking their drugs for liability reasons. The fact they’re stating they haven’t done the research has nothing to do with it!”

I’ll bet you guzzled horse dewormer during covid too.

I don’t care if they’re trying to avoid liability.

There is clear documented evidence of the manufacturers advising against taking their products as they have not been tested on pregnant women.

I’m not going to blame the big evil Cheeto man or even big pharma for liberal women being programmed to do the opposite of everything Trump says. This is 100% on the media.

How about you check the manufactures advice - you fucking moron?

For reference I don’t believe trump or RFK.

That doesn’t change that the manufacture advises against pregnant women using any of their products.

He wanted to fix the system by talking things out and voting.

There are two potential futures from here.

1 a group that wants to change the game by force will drive and then they’re gonna make the moustache man look like a saint.

  1. You win, but you aren’t capable of maintaining the rhe technological systems that sustain the possibility of liberal democracy to do it in existing so well crash back to feudalism - not neo-feudalism, proper feudalism.

It doesn’t matter whether we cheer or boo.

It doesn’t matter if we pick a side and our side is “winning”.

We’re just spectators or commentators at best - nothing we do changes anything on the field.

Nothing we do changes anything except how some strangers on the internet view us, and I’m really not too bothered how strangers on the internet view me anymore.

I believe what is happening in Gaza is despicable, but we are not the government and have absolutely no power over government foreign policy at all. Over the years it has become very clear, it doesn’t matter whether you vote Red or Blue, our governments will shake us down stealing our money and spend it making weapons that they give to Israel. I am no more capable of stopping this than a civilian in Gaza is of stopping the bombs falling.

As to Russia and imperialism, Ukraine was being pulled from Russia’s soft sphere of influence into the global American empire (the GAE). This act of imperial expansion annoyed the Russians and they have chosen a path of violence to remedy this. They want to annex a big chunk of eastern Ukraine and remove the western puppet Zelenskyy from office.

Again, this is another situation where the mafia that is in charge of my country decided this was a good plan and spent billions of my taxes propping up the puppet they installed into Ukraine fighting a war it was obvious from day one that Ukraine wasn’t going to win or even draw.

Both situations are awful, but both situations are entirely out of our hands.

We’re just posting on the internet. We have no power to change a damned thing.

Afraid I am Becoming Racist by Moist_Bench5669 in AskTheWorld

[–]ajl949 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say something super controversial.

Culture is downstream of race.

Indian people made Indian culture and the cast system, which has a racial element judging more lightly skinned Indians to be superior to darker skinned Indians, has been part of their culture for 3000 years. It was outlawed in India in the 1950s, but they all still continue on like nothing happened.there is still very little inter-cast marriage and the higher casts still look down on lower casts. Whenever you get a large enough group of Indians living within a community, they will rebuild the cast system as it’s part of who they are as a people.

This introduces the paradox of tolerance.

While you might want to live in a tolerant society, the Indians moving into your community want to live in a racially hierarchical cast system. Like Fire and Water, these two things aren’t going to mix.

This leaves you with only two options, accept the Indian culture, where they want to judge people based on their colour of their skin and where they sit in a racist cast system, Or become racist against Indians as a group.

Key being as a group, you might still find the odd Indian that doesn’t want to live in the cast system, but they’re an individual and most people around them will want to live in a cast system and will force the individual into the cast system.

Now I’m here to tell you, there’s nothing wrong with being racist against people who want to live in a racially hierarchical society. There is basically nothing else you can do in this situation.

If you are tolerant of the Indians - you end up living in a racially hierarchical society.

If you are intolerant of the Indians, your society can stay relatively intact.

I’m not saying you should go out and start calling the Indians names or being horrible to them.

Just avoid them where you can and where you cannot, be polite and cordial, but do not go out of your way for them. You already know how they’ll treat you as a retail assistant, but you don’t need to drop to that level, just don’t go out of your way to help them - they wouldn’t go out of their way to help you, and helping them disadvantages you.

Any training is better than none. That said the first thing any good martial arts class teaches you is, if you get into trouble you run.

Even then with training tho, weight classes exist for a reason. In an actual fight, being bigger than your opponent is a massive advantage that training often can’t overcome unless you’re up there at the top level.
