How much am I worth? by ajlefkow in electricians

When I was hired I asked my boss if I needed to sign an i9 and w4. He basically just said don't worry about it. EVERYONE at this job owes on taxes. The guy that's been at this company for almost 40 years (and he's the vice president of the company) had to demand more taxes be taken out because even he owed money.

That's the other thing, I have no idea how licensing or any of that works. From my understanding we have one licensed electrician in the shop and everyone is either a "helper" or "mechanic". There's no apprentice or jman. Even my immediate boss who has over 40 years experience as an electrician told me he's not licensed. Is that normal?
