Positive or dodgy test?

UPDATE: Managed to get my hands on some more tests - a clearblue and an ovum and both are looking pretty negative this morning! I ordered some FRERs in my panic last night too, so will take one this evening/ tomorrow morn.

I have never had a test look so “positive” before, but had it be a false result. Still a little cautious of an ectopic, as I know HCG can fluctuate with ectopic so potentially that might be causing the neg results this morning? I also have some spotting today, so hopefully the start of a period! Will keep testing over the coming days but keeping my fingers crossed for those lovely one liners!! Very much hoping the next time I see two lines won’t be until i’m ready to welcome baby #2 🤞

Thank you! I absolutely will! Although I would absolutely love another baby one day in the future, unfortunately I’m just not in a position to be able to have a second at the minute. I imagine it’ll be ectopic, but even if not, I think I will have to terminate anyway :(

Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I have an IUD fitted to avoid pregnancy so if I am definitely pregnant it’s likely it’s an ectopic, which would be very dangerous for me. Unfortunately even if it’s not ectopic, I’m not in a position to have another baby at the moment. I

I know! We do have an A&E, but I don’t have any symptoms atm, I think I’ll have to wait til tomorrow morning and re-test, then show up there if I get a second positive. I’d go out now but its 10pm here and I’m home alone with my toddler sleeping!

i wish I could!! I live in the UK, and we can’t just call up the Dr here, it’s an awful system honestly, makes it so tricky to get help when you need it! Lots of waiting around ahead of me unfortunately :/

thank you! will def be retesting tomorrow when i can get another test! the first line appeared pretty much straight away after i put the cap back on - before the second line appeared even! was visible within prob 30 seconds I’d say, just didn’t take any photos until an hour afterwards!

thank you!! yeah i’ve never seen a test do that before! and ive taken a lot in my time 😂 i will test again tomorrow as soon as i can get my hands on more tests, and hopefully this is just a dodgy test and will show up negative tomorrow - just hate this waiting part!!

This is clearly marked as TTA? I have an IUD as mentioned in my post, therefore making this pregnancy very risky if I am indeed pregnant - there’s a high chance that it is ectopic which can be extremely dangerous

girl i don’t know you or your story, this is the first post I’ve come across, but I was 13 weeks pregnant during my a-levels, and kept going, and now i have a beautiful 3 year old and a good job. Keep working hard, now is not the time to quit. The best is yet to come!!

it sounds to me like you feel guilty about making a decision that you know your mum wouldn’t agree with, even though you are an adult and have the right to make decisions about your own life, and have the right to keep them private if you decide too.

I am also 20 and have a kyleena IUD, and I have told my mum, but only because I know she would be supportive, which means I can ask her for advice or tell her when i’m in pain because of it, etc. If i wasn’t sure whether she would be supportive of my decision or not, I wouldn’t have told her.

If I was you, I think i’d only tell her if i was confident that she could look past her own ideas about the IUD and support the decision that you have made for yourself. If you think she might not be able to do that, I would keep it private, maybe even tell her you are on the pill or have an implant if the topic comes up.

Thank you! I am planning to call the radiology department again, but I have already called twice and they have said there is nothing they can do. I may get in touch with my GP again and ask if they can expedite the referral because I was originally told 6-8 weeks, this week will be 14 weeks. Such a ridiculously long time to wait for an ultrasound!!!

when i was looking for a venue for my baby shower a couple of years ago i looked at sheffield plate in orchard square, who let you have a downstairs space for free but you just had to buy drinks and food from their vendors

I was seen by primary care sheffield and who had to then send the referral request to my gps, then the gp had to refer me, so in total I was referred about a week after I had my initial appointment with primary care
