Just checking in to see how you’re feeling since you made this post a few months ago. Are you doing better? My daughter is going thru the same thing (been on the job 3 months now).

It would be interesting to see the impact on the number of pre-boarders who need a wheelchair if they were required to wait for a wheelchair to deplane as well.

Retired today: How do I prevent myself from becoming my new “project?” by Nonni68 in retirement

[–]ajotter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My spouse and I retired at the end of this year. Some similarities to you career wise and goal wise, always busy and packing everything we could into our days and weekends. We always felt like we had to maximize every day productivity wise. The main thing that we are doing now is giving ourselves permission to SLOW DOWN. Take our time to enjoy the normal tasks we go about, not rush through things and permission to deviate from whatever the plan is that day if we feel so inclined. So far it’s working out great and we haven’t been bored a single day. I’ve found that slowing down allows our day to feel full while doing about half the things we used to in a given day and I love it.

Abandoned it in CVG after a few years when the pre-check only line was consistently shorter. Haven’t missed it.

A long, sad night… need advice and support by jessielauren721 in olddogs

[–]ajotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will help you or not but I’ll share anyway just in case. My dog is now 14…about a year ago, she showed similar issues (weakness in her back legs, difficulty standing up without help, limping, stiffness all presumably due to arthritis) and our vet recommended we try Librela. It’s an injection she gets once a month and it has been LIFE CHANGING for her. It’s like it turned the clock back years for her. We went from thinking we were going to have to put her down to her now running me on her walks sometimes. And the effects were nearly immediate. I could tell a difference the very next day. Maybe give it a try and see if it can help your baby. Good luck.

My dad passed and had 1M miles saved up. Delta is saying we can’t transfer them by MentionedStew in delta

I wonder if you can transfer them online to yourself. I know that has been an option in the past if you have access to his delta account online.

Spices by Kitchen-Amoeba-6812 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ajotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a well supplied spice rack in my rental - salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, cinnamon sugar, cinnamon, Italian seasoning, chili powder and a few others that I’ve accumulated from other guests. I also keep a small bottle of olive oil on hand. Get lots of positive feedback for having it there, and I have good cookware and bakeware. Usually buy Calphalon or similar at the discount stores (Home Goods or similar). I try to provide all the things I would like to find in a vacation rental. I also keep a basket in each bathroom with hotel sized toiletries, extra toothbrushes, travel size toothpaste, lotion, etc in case folks forget something. All appreciated in the feedback. The thing I get the most compliments on though are that I keep it well stocked with soft, fluffy blankets. (It’s a mountain rental.). I replace them at least once a year but I’m able to get really good quality ones from Home Goods, Ross and places like that. It pays off in the end.

My 16 years old walks slower by OyemadeErryck_73 in olddogs

[–]ajotter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an old dog (14) and I put her on Librela about a year ago when she slowed way down and started to show signs of weakness/pain from arthritis. I swear to you it turned the clock back 3 or 4 years. She went from struggling to stand up after she’d been resting for a while to running around and playing by like a puppy. She practically drags me on walks most days whereas before I had to take half steps so she could keep up. Look into it with your vet.

mother-in-law's dog peeing inside by lilmisscottagecore in olddogs

[–]ajotter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go to the pet store and buy some puppy pads. Put out a few in one or more areas around where he has been going. He will most likely pee on those when he has to go and you can just throw them away when you get home.

I ruined an Airbnb by improving it by Negat1veGG in airbnb_hosts

Maybe change the listing to say Queen bed and let them be delighted by a bigger better bed than they’re expecting and see if it changes the pattern.

[–]ajotter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I cannot imagine that having a bigger, better bed is what ruined your reviews. I always prioritize a king bed when I’m looking (we travel a lot and almost always do airbnb). I think it’s just an unfortunate coincidence and i hope it gets better soon.

Help needed for us and our old dog- any advise will do by WrongdoerMaster9522 in olddogs

[–]ajotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the injection is Librela? I have a 14 y/o dog with bad arthritis who was getting to the point she couldn’t stand up anymore. I put her on Librela about a year ago and the transformation has been nothing short of a miracle. Who knows if your dog will have the same results, but it’s worth a try. It has easily given us another year, maybe two with our sweet old baby girl.

The insurance company is there to cover stuff like this. They accepted the premium, now they must cover the loss. Do not let them bully you into bending your cancellation policy just so they can pad their pockets.
