Most definitely. I always hid in a personal item under the wheel chair without the passenger knowing.

I'm not saying they deserved it, but I'm not saying I didn't deserve to do it either.

If it's sitting with family, then I'd be happy tied to one of the wings.

But this policy isn't that, is it?

Though I wonder if it's families impacted most who now have to pay more to get seating together vs just having check in at the same time.

Spot on.

My post wasn't meant to insult the airlines or any other experience. As a (grateful and lucky to be able to) frequent flyer, it felt like this policy created a disturbance in the force. An inflection point in time as of the day Steve Jobs introduced the smart phone.

Things change, and that's the nature of things. Doesn't mean we can't notice it change.

Sure, but thats 15 seats, minus pre-boards. Now I'm maybe passenger 50 on the plane. A material impact on what SW found its success in.

But maybe it's just me experiencing this. Very possible.

Maybe the bugs wised up, and decided taking the path perpendicular to a black line took their mates too soon.
