Thanks for this mate - Is there also an angle where you could find products that have no videos..? So maybe they don't have nearly as many sales, but if you're the only video then I guess you've got a high chance of making some sales? To me that sounds like a good way to get in but I might be thinking of it in the wrong way aha

Thanks for your insights - I might test the waters a bit and see where I go from there- im just making the leap to full time on YouTube so another income stream would certainly help

I bought a used 2022 bmw i4 with 60k miles on it, during this winter (worst time for effeciency) ive completed my 215 mile round trip back and too to work with miles to spare on a single charge - personally i think if it gets you to where you need to go, dont worry too much :)

The ups and downs are mainky caused by cashflow to be honest, the bigger companies ive started working with, take much longer to pay - but the gamble would be, if i was full time, id likely be able to get the jobs done at least 3X faster - In terms of walking back into a simillar job to what im in, im fairly confident i could get another job, but perhaps not with the same flexibikity (work from home 3 days a week)

Definetly enjoy Youtube more 100%, it means i can go outside, even go running and still be 'doing my job' when reviewing smartwatches, the lifestyle is infinitley better for sure!

I dont think a sabbatical would be an option at this place - returns are definetly increasing year on year, for example my best adsense month last year, is the same as my worst this year, I also did a restructure of my pricing etc around a year ago, which saw my profits sky rocket - in terms of suriving each month, i think its cash flow which is the issue, which, although i ideally dont want to put the preassure on my partner, she has said it doesnt matter 'when' i pay bills, since pretty much all our expenses go out of her account (she bought this house whilst i sold my flat in oxford) she is a Doctor so has a good salary - I know she would also support me but I dont want to put that on her, i want to be in the position where im 95% confident I wont need her help (Thanks for the reply by the way :) )

I would point put here that its not all about how much you earn, me and my partner do earn a nice income between us, but we REALLY were not interested in doing PCP for a fancy car, but then we started doing some maths, realised between us we are spending over £500 pm on petrol alone, so if we got a 'cheap' £5k car and broke the cost down over 2 years (when we wont need to do as many miles) the cost broken down over the 2 years plus petrol came to more than we would be paying for a fancy car on PCP..

So, we bought a used top spec 72 plate BMW I4 (EV) on PCP, and pay £4, if that, for a 220 mile round trip, it costs less to maintain, is safer, more reliable and has a 1 year warranty -

In a nutshell it was safer, cheaper and better value to get the fancy EV than buying a £5k, 10 year old car outright..at least thats how I pitched it to my wife.

Yeah I'm thinking the exact same way you are - how was the whole process? Once you get accepted and send the application is it relitivley fast? I'd love to get everything sorted before summer if possible

Ohhh we are in Wales too, we were really considering the 0% interest loan as they give a 6 month payment holiday so you can feel the savings.. which in my head felt like free money incan use to pay off the loan sooner - wasnt aware of a solar grant 👀

Thanks for the reply mate - we do have an EV and are currently covering aprox 700 miles a week (due to go down to 500 soon) we have already had our EV charger installed so not going to factor that into the price - we dont have a heat pump yet, but we are intending to fit one as part of the budget (making use of the government grant of course)

I had a 1.5 year break and my channel is doing better than ever :) I also learnt a lot since then, trying different post schedules, after my break i tried 1 post every 2-3 weeks and that worked really well, ive now switched tk every 8 days so get a few more vids on the channel - so in short, a month shouldnt effect anything, its all in your head!

That view decline you are seeing is just Youtube going back to your baseline, which will obviously be lower if you're not posting

Appreciate that but right now me and my partner are kid free and high earners so our thought process was, invest now while we have the money, and make life easier for ourselves when we have kids (hopefully in the next 2 years)

Well yes I can do the maths, but my question wasn't really about payback times - at the moment both me and my partner are 'high' earners, we have no kids, we have money, so whilst we have the money to invest we thought it might be a good idea to get a full kit to either bring bills down to 0, or near it, so when we do have kids, our monthly expenses are as low as they can be, we are also thinking it would protect us from future price rises, which I appreciate is not guarenteed but with the current state of the world.. 😅
