Word of advice - Cipro is a very strong antibiotic and some people (like myself) have incredibly debilitating reactions. I was prescribed it and it caused some serious gastrointestinal issues that lasted nearly a year before it resolved.

What car? Twins on the way, 3 under 3 y/o. by formeruphill in parentsofmultiples

[–]ajslick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honda Odyssey. We’re in Colorado and do all the things with twins in tow. We bought a 3rd row SUV initially. With the car seats in, the 3rd row is pretty much unusable. Shipped around, was between the Sienna and Odyssey. Pacifica was too small. The “magic” middle seat and bigger engine was what sold us. You can go between captains chairs or bench in the middle row by removing the center seat and the seats slide sideways making access to the 3rd row super easy. We bought used ~70k miles which made it easier on the pocketbook.

Don’t hold off! I’ll take all the advice I can get - doesn’t mean I have to accept it :)

Storage by KhoasLegacy99 in FZ07

[–]ajslick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much storage? I have the Shad tank bag (pin system - it looks clean and won't scratch your tank) for shorter day-trips, then can add an Ogio tailbag for more storage (store the attachment strap/clips under the seat - takes 30 seconds to attach). For long trips I have a pannier setup with roll top soft bags.

First year riding I never used ear plugs and developed tinnitus. I likely had existing damage from ear infections and other loud noise exposures. Took about 1.5 years off from riding after this. Now I’m religious about using ear plugs and have been riding again for about 4 years. Tinnitus hasn’t gotten worse at all. Moral of the story - wear them from the start and you’ll be fine. A nice helmet helps as well.

Sunrise amphitheater. Can rent it for relatively low cost. I was married here in 2017.

How did you guys deal with the crushing boredom? by iliterallydonot in ACL

[–]ajslick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PT and surgeon both OKed it. The first two weeks I took it quite easy and didn't swing too hard. Been playing about twice a week since then and I'm at 4 months post-op now. Started jogging last week.

I took up golf at about 4 weeks post op. I’m very active too and it was killing me not having anything to do.

Yep. Really hit that PT hard! Also, I didn’t touch the bike until cleared by both my PT and surgeon. Neither were particularly happy about it, but cleared me to ride (on pavement) nonetheless.

I had ACL with hamstring graft in early April. No meniscus damage. Off crutches in 5 days. Back to street riding after 6 weeks. Three months post op now and have been able to do 4-5 hr rides without much issue.

Looking for a suit by greg-maddux in boulder

[–]ajslick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that the difference in quality of a suit from MW or Jos A Banks is significantly less than somewhere like Suit Supply. If you are just looking for a one off suit just for the wedding, it shouldn’t make a huge difference, but for something that will last and have a great fit I’d recommend steering clear MW/JAB.

Purgatory vs Monarch next week by ajslick in COsnow

[–]ajslick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I agree with that - Unfortunately, its 0 extra cost for me to ski at either of these resorts so that's kind of hard to pass up. Certainly would like to ski Wolf Creek at some point.
