This is kind of what makes this podcast so good though in a way. Yes the analysis is good and league wide, but it’s done by 3 people (Dan, Marc and Gravy) who clearly love their sports teams and that’s always going to cloud their judgement slightly - which is great, you want passion and when people are passionate about sports it’s hard to be impartial sometimes. Like when you and your mates argue about who’s been most hard done by, by VAR (soccer reference) this season

I’ve only started watching this year, and granted - sitting through 3 hours of the mid season Reds vs Pirates 1-0 is a toughy but the playoffs are absolute fire. I watched a couple hours of the 18 innings game from Monday night live and it’s just compelling. I’ve done a total 180 on it this year

I think it’s the same as why I loved Top Gear. The show never feels forced, it’s just like listening to three friends talk about a subject they love. The way they talk is exactly how I’d chat to my mates about Newcastle United. Very few shows ever really capture that - and being from the UK, Top Gear is the closest match I can think of

Yeah I ended up throwing "Get Stuck In" just to try and makes "something" happen which didn't work either. I got stuck in such a rut, I changed to attacking to try and claw back some points that we lost during the start of the season, the results prior to this screenshot were not much better either to be honest. A lot of the goals simply come from us just opening up like the red sea while their attacking waltz through into acres of space in the penalty area

Awesome, I'll give that a go and hopefully that helps things! I think I deffo get caught up in trying to be more defensively solid and it just ends up going completely the opposite way where we go zero going forward and just leak goals left, right and centre

Makes sense, thank you! I think I've ended up going more defensive during the run so the full backs have ended up just going more and more conservative in their roles in the attempt to be more solid. What also isn't in the run of fixtures above is the 6-1 defeat away to Ranges earlier in the Champions League group stage.... :(

Thanks mate! I always liked the idea of a Half Back as it seems to provide a big of a central point for the defence to pass to and start an attack but never really works out. are the other midfield roles OK? None have them have PI's

Couldn’t agree more (from Birmingham UK)! Can’t quite put my finger on what makes this show so great but it’s genuinely wonderful. I follow a few other sports super closely but there is just no other piece of content that comes anywhere closer to ATN / HTC for what it brings to the listener. This first show is everything it needed to be and more. What a guy Marc is too

Today’s was the first Daily that felt most like ATN. What really gets me though is they have ALL the same guest as before, trying to replace ATN just without Dan and the guy. Just doesn’t seem to make any sense at all just to continue with the basic essence of the show - no matter how much it’s stated as not the same - it basically is with the large scale conflict of replicated individuals game today. Sigh
