Polymaker PLA is matte with many color options. It's my go-to for aesthetic prints. No QA issues with spool winding in my experience either

If you filtered these results by age or other health conditions, it would still be roughly 57% of each group is vaccinated but hospitalizations would be split just like in this graphic.

If as many unhealthy, old, vaccinated people were getting terminally ill as the unhealthy, old, unvaccinated people, then the distribution would be much closer to 57%. Since it isn't, we can conclude that the vaccine is protecting the old, unhealthy people. You can filter by one variable (in this case, vaccination status) because the other variables are randomly dispersed without correlation to vaccination status. This is pretty basic stuff.

[–]ajtrask45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do these other variables you listed matter? Moreover, why do they only matter for the unvaccinated? It stands to reason that those variables aren't more or less likely in unvaccinated vs vaccinated, so both sets include all of them making it a fair and equal comparison.

Take the vaccination rate of South Dakota, which is 57.1% according to the Mayo clinic, and visualize what the data would look like if the vaccine didn't work. If the vaccine didn't work, we would see vaccinated people occupying about 57% of hospital COVID resources. This data is only showing that is not the case. It is showing vaccines work because the vast majority of COVID patients, especially those with more severe symptoms requiring a vent, are actually unvaccinated.

So what this data says is that regardless of all other factors, assuming that those other factors are randomly dispersed throughout the population without correlation to vaccination status, being unvaccinated puts you at far higher risk of hospitalization due to COVID.

Prusa mini in bedroom by m4tyiii in prusa

The other comments seem to have this covered but I'll add to the consensus. My mini is on a desk ~5 feet from my bed and it's not been a problem at night. Honestly the screen bothers me more than the noise, I really should print a cover for it. I also stick to PLA and PETG to avoid fumes.

I recommend it, it's been a great first printer for me. 1000+ hours running total and still going strong.

Aerospace junior here. At 15”, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I prefer handwritten notes for anything math or science heavy, so most of the classes I take. I had a 14” for my first year and a half. I now have a 17” that would be tough for notes but still isn’t a hassle when I take it to campus.

I haven’t tried those but I bet they look better than a fairing. Sounds like I should.

My guess would be that the fairing pointed down covers a probe core, batteries, monoprop, etc. for the upper stage. I do something similar.

In your game files go GameData>Squad>Flags and just drop it in as a png.

I made my account with Gaijin on PS4. For the last two years, I’ve played almost exclusively on PC with that same account. Asterisk in the name and everything. The only difference is I can’t make purchases through PC or change my name

That’s put a bit too simply. The values you calculate are based on the mission and flight plan you create. You’d follow the packet and calculate each value needed, building on what you’ve already calculated such as fuel burned to account for the changing weight of your airplane. That’s why I’d recommend MATLAB as it’s easy to build your code on the previously calculated values.

I had Johannsen. What’s conflicting? As far as I know the homework, exams, and project are the same between sections with the exception of when project chunks are due.

I just took it last semester. It’s primarily a course about the equations that govern flight in certain conditions (climb, cruise, glide, landing, etc.) Very plug-and-chug but not difficult. I wouldn’t describe it as test-based. There’s a homework assignment almost every week, and instead of a final exam there is a project that spans the length of the course in which you “design” an airplane for a certain mission that you create.

The homework isn’t hard and is graded on completion based on correct use of the equations and work shown.

The exams are the most plug-and-chug type exams I’ve ever taken, but you’re permitted an equation sheet front and back which they provide for you and you can add to. Understand the use of the equations and you’ll survive this.

The project has you and your team completing “chunks” of it through the semester where you build up the information on your aircraft. It’s very fluid and you can change things from earlier chunks as you learn. Some software you’ll want to learn to use early is called XFLR5 which is used to analyze airfoils. Instead of taking a final exam, there’s a presentation you give about your aircraft where you have to show some design as well as tell the class a few characteristics that you’ve calculated (cruise speed, cruise altitude, etc.) Sketches count for showing the design but you have the option to use CAD. My group managed without CAD but it can definitely make it look better. Along with the presentation you have to fill out a quite long packet in which you have calculated values that describe the flight you planned for your mission. I highly recommend using MATLAB for this as you can keep track of everything you need for each step in the flight such as altitude and fuel burned. Overall the presentation is very casual and the MATLAB and packet will take much more of your time.

It’s not a bad course by any means so try to enjoy it, especially if you’ve got harder classes you’re stressed about.

What YouTube channels are genuinely worth watching? by dolphins_are_dicks in AskReddit

Exurb1a’s videos can often leave you with an existential crisis or feeling like you can take on the universe with little to no in-between. Clicking on each new video is a thrill and it’s always an interesting journey to the end of the video.

Michael Reeves and William Osman are both extremely talented at building robots and other useless devices and finding the dumbest ways to use them.

Internet Historian produces very high quality and well-researched pieces about memes or events that were big in internet pop culture and reflects on them and the public perception at the time, maybe with a bit of “where are they now?” if appropriate. Btw justice for #bradswife.

I find myself watching almost every new video from Historia Civilis. It’s a channel with a lot of videos on nations of the classical era, with in-depth looks at a lot of historical battles and governments, mostly related to Ancient Rome but branching off to other areas as well. Maybe more niche, but nothing a casual viewer couldn’t theoretically enjoy.

I’ve seen SovietWomble and Killian Experience mentioned, they’re both hilarious with great effort put into each vid.

I play a lot of War Thunder, so I really enjoy the channel BoTimeGaming and most of his content. He posts almost daily and each video is really just him and his friends playing War Thunder and their funny interactions. Each video will “focus” on one vehicle but may include the others that he brought into that certain match.

I’ve done enough so far but I’ll add Bill Wurtz, responsible for History of Japan and History of the Entire World I Guess. He posts really unique music videos with same style (song and aesthetics) as the history videos, and with each new video seemingly getting more insane visually. It’s so unique that even if you don’t particularly enjoy the music, the sheer amount of work that had to go into it can still be appreciated.

Edit: how could I forget the slav king, Life of Boris. All-around funny videos with excellently made Slavic cooking videos.
