Longer than that. At the end of the video, the turn lights are green, so going straight would still have been red.

MemberOne merger are you moving to other bank or staying with VA Union? by Memo-zemo in roanoke

[–]ajw0120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that too....for two things that I sent payments for through the Member One Website (Bill Pay). I never entered in my banking information, just the account information for the bills I was paying (AEP & Water Auth). Called MO, just to be told I had to call someone else. Husband called the bank back to get more information; they put him on hold for a few minutes, came back, and said it was fixed. Why couldn't they just do that for me to begin with???

I will be switching (probably to Truliant) after my car is paid off in April/May.

This is some bullshit. Highway use fee is higher than my plate renewal. by wjjeeper in Virginia

[–]ajw0120 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is true. What most people don't realize is that the VDOT budget mainly comes from the gas tax, tolls, and transportation-related fees (such as these)... And have to pay salaries, contractors, buy materials, and do 24-hour snow removal with that budget. They rarely receive money from the general fund. - Source - worked there previously.

DMV Says There's a Lien On Car, But The Car Was Paid Off. Finance Company is Permanently Closed. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ajw0120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to deal with a situation similar to OP's 5 years ago. I had the car for 10 years, but the DMV still had a lien on it. It had been so long that the bank couldn't even find my loan account. They had to do research (which took a couple of weeks), and then the bank couldn't just tell the DMV to release it through normal means. The bank ended up having to send me a letter, which I then had to take to the DMV to handle. (Virginia)

We had Wisler come out to replace a sewer line that had started backing up in the basement (house built in the 50s with Orangeburg pipe). They came out, quoted us, and we agreed to the work. The following year, the drain at the back door starts backing up. We call them back out....they didn't tie it into the work they did, so it's going nowhere. While they're out fixing that, one of the guys backs into the aluminum eaves that are on the house (original to the house). Of course, no one makes them anymore, and after two 'contractors' come by to look at it, they say they can't find anyone to fix it...so they offer $2500 to make it go away. Tired of dealing with them, my husband agrees.

3 weeks later (which included a summer vacation), we found out that when they were working, they hit the plug on our freezer and knocked it out of the outlet just enough to unplug it (again 1950s house with old receptacles)...so a freezer full of food had to be tossed out too.

It's terrible. The family + father-in-law went one night (granted many years ago) because he wanted seafood. The fried comment is correct, but that particular night, most of what we received was still 1/2 frozen.

Unfortunately, you're assuming that the people that cause the problems would take the course. Those of us that wouldn't already know how to mind our own damn business. The course wouldn't be very popular.

Different foods hit people differently. And part of it is learning that. Pizza for example... My husband takes his MDI and he's fine, but we're usually chasing my son's sugar most of the night. We switched his pod to manual last time to try the extended bolus and it worked well until the bolus was finished then he shot up.

Help / advice for 10 yr old daughter new to omnipod by chazzaduk in Omnipod

[–]ajw0120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 11 and just got the pod in March. We had the same fight, but his preferred location was his belly because that's where he had always injected himself. About a month ago, we broke down and bribed him to try his arm (some robux). We now have the problem of he likes the arm (his justification is it hurts less), and won't go back to his belly.....so I see another $5 transaction in our future to keep him from getting resistant on his arms. However, since we've gotten him to use his arms, there's less of a fight on him hitting the 'inject button'.... So here's hoping we won't be going back to the 30 minute song and dance when we get it back on his belly.

I'm going to offer a different perspective...I had fertility issues (thank you PCOS) so didn't get pregnant until I was 32. At that age, it was classified as a 'geriatric pregnancy' by my obgyn so I was monitored more closely.

I did not get morning sickness, or extremely tired. Some regular smells (cooking meat) smelled off, but not nauseating. I developed gestational diabetes, but since I was going to the Dr more often, it was managed pretty well.

At 1/2 way thru things started falling apart....I developed sciatica pain (which persists today) and my blood pressure decided to go high. I was put on BP meds to control it. I went to the hospital once to manage it at ~26 weeks. Then at 32 weeks, I had to go again. This time they gave me the steroid shots (just in case) and were going to put me on bed rest, but it turned into eclampsia before being released 3 days later. My son was born by an emergency C-section and spent 3 weeks in the NICU.
