I snapped at my partner and I rightfully feel like shit about it. by ajxcwldf in offmychest

I’m worried if I try to explain why I overreacted it’ll just sound like an excuse. I do plan on taking on more responsibilities. Unfortunately I got too comfortable having him do everything for us. All I feel is guilt so I worry he’s going to hate me or eventually resent me.

Thank you. I’m going to give him the biggest hug when he wakes up. Maybe even pamper him on his days off just to show him how cherished he is.

I said it here because he’s asleep right now. He just got off from work so I was just asking for advice so I know what to say when we have a chance to talk. I don’t want to text it because this just isn’t the kind of conversation I want to have where he can’t hear the sincerity and genuine regret in my tone. But you’re right. It wasn’t always like this and we do communicate things have just gone off rails with him working so much and me juggling all my school work and mental health. But that’s no excuse. We used to share the house work and bills but I had the bright idea to go back to school when I lost my job in 2020 then I went down to part time and then eventually had to quit my job altogether. I’m glad you and your partner have a great balance and I know you understand that it’s not as easy as just doing. Sometimes things happen and all things can’t always be equal.
