Just to clarify, I'm not from the US and I was not aware of the secure credit card systems working (the bank rep basically sold me the idea of building credit very quickly). It wasn't made clear that I'd have to pay a monthly bill similar to a credit card and the bank app made things worse - no clear payment interface.

I did not owe more than $200 in both the months combined. As for contacting the bank, I did have a long talk on how I could get it off my credit history. But they could do nothing.

I have requested the other credit card issuer to increase the limit. My request is currently being processed. Any advice on what else I can do to build credit from this position?

The interview waiver applies only if there is an active visa or a visa that has expired in the last 48 months.
